Forums - Nintendo - Wii madden looks better than ps3/360 madden?!?!?!?!

In these videos the Wii version looks much better overall.

When the games come out I seriously doubt on an HD TV the Wii version will look better, but on the off chance that it does it will have far more to do with developers than hardware.

Perfectly said. Although the grass in the Wii version looks a ton more realistic than the other versions.

It is a hardcore game through and through. You will get your ass kicked by bosses. You will be stumped by the sometimes complex, but never overbearing, exploration.

I think the similarities are more due to EA not wanting to develop the SKUs separately for each platform, so if anything the 360/PS3 versions are probably held back a bit for the sake of multiplatform release. Future releases may show more of a difference on the graphics end, whereas this year effort has gone into adding play features and a general art design upgrade.

That said, Madden is a well-established franchise with solid gameplay and it doesn't really cry out for improved visuals at this point. (Which in itself could be seen as validation of the Wii strategy.)

All they need to do is find a few more secrets within the Wii hardware so that they can upgrade the player models, then it'll look as good as the 360/PS3 versions.

the characters and their movements look better for the ps3/wii, but i do like the coloring better for the wii. another important thing is, the gameplay is different between the two. i never played any sports games before (except for some old basketball game at my friend's place on his computer) or recently, mario striker, so i'm not sure how the controls usually work. ps3/360 version seems like you set up plays. where as the wii version, you can choose who to pass it to last minute. it seems easy to grasp, at least for me. i should try it out through gamefly.

Currently loving my Wii x2, Xbox 360 Pro & Xbox 360 Arcade, and Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children Limited "Cloud Black" 160GB PS3

GAMEFLY & GOOZEX FTW

I agree, also another thing I noticed was that the action of the wii version the camera was back further then that on the ps3 it wascloser to the players. My guess (assuming you cant get closer on wii) this was done on purpose so they wouldn't need to put my player detail in and concetrate on lighting effects to make it appear better then it is.

I've been looking around on other sites and i can't seem to find a good image or video so far for the ps3 or 360 version. Everything so far looks like a comp version with the graphics settings turned down and run at low resoulutions. All the posters on the other sites seem to think the same thing, i will continue to look for good shots, but so far it looks like EA has screwed up really bad.

I found a better trailer but it still looks like crap, but if you look over the guys shoulder on the TV it looks better.

hmm the Wii version looks pretty good in comparism , but those shadows are a bit uncanny to me .. they don't seem to be calculated in realtime , but rather linked to the animation of the player and have 2 lighting situations programmed (for sunlight and for artificial light)

I never understood why things like realistic shadows and how well the grass moves or doesn't move in the wind is something people seem to obsessed with.

That said, the difference is hardly noticeable, kudos to EA for evening out the games' graphics.

I have to agree with WhiteOutKing on his first point, and no offense but unless this effects my West Coast offense playcalling I don't care much. But a lot of people will tell you that is the difference between a Wii owner and a PS3/360 owner, and if that is the case I am fine with that.
