| stof said: While you personally may have been dissapointed Northstar, Madden 07 got positive reviews and has sold 400,000 copies on the Wii despite not having online. The main reason being the controls, which many found to be intuitive and fun, though unrefined. Madden 08 is significantly better looking, has online, has refined controls (apparently they tightened up the previously loose kicking), dramatically expanded the mini games and multi player (two on two was supposed to be a lot of fun in O7), and added the new player control option. Everything indicates that EA is putting a lot of love into their Wii version. Can you say telestrator? that's the kind of addition that will get attention, and will push people to get one version of the game over another. |
The problems with the other versions that made the wii version a ok choice last year no longer exist.
thing is game sliek maddon 07 tiger woods 07 come out much later then the others (well here anyway). Considering 08 ones are coming soon anyway why wouldn't people wait? who wants to get a game that will be outdated soon in every possible way.
Alot my my friends and I are waitign for 08 versions. We hired the 07 games and thought they were good but knew they would be more refined in 08.

I completely forgot that the Wii version will be cheaper than the others (except PS2 maybe? Forgot the price of PS2 games), that alone will be a great selling point.

But the other versions also have nothing unique in them. The Wii has all their features (minus achievements) plus it's own set of unique features, a highly praised control scheme, a cheaper price, and very impressive graphics for a Wii game. |
So achievements isn't unique?

I hate so much about the things that you choose to be.

Um... yes, it is. That's why I said that. Anyone know if the PS3 version has their trophy things? Anyway, I'm not denying the 360 version will sell best for next gen systems, but the Wii version is certainly nothing to scoff at this time around. For once EA got off their asses and made a Madden game different.

You discounted the other versions without actually looking to see what their features are. The Wii does indeed have unique features but at a cost, and the cost is that they dropped other features that are in the other versions of the game. It looks like EA is going for a more casual Madden experience on the Wii (complete with minigames) and a hardcore indepth experience on the other next gen systems. It should be interesting to see which Madden fans decide on.

Madden NFL 08 (360)

Madden NFL 08 (Wii)

Wait but there was a turbo button on the Wii version of Madden to make you go faster. Just like the other games. They didn't change this did they? I know there was a dashing mini game where you had to drum the controls but nothing else.
Current systems owned: Wii, 360. I'll get a PS3 when hell freezes over!... or when the price drops to a reasonable level. Whichever comes first.
