Forums - Gaming - 1st and 2nd parties are the key

Watching and predicting sales evolution of consoles and games is pretty interesting. I mean, it's fun but I don't believe sales make a big difference this gen. 360 fans seem to be very proud that their console is selling better (being launched a year before a costing a lot less than PS3) but is it that important? Most of the games are multiplatform nowadays and will be in the following years becouse the distance in sales is not that big and will likely be reduced next year when PS3 become cheaper... so, the ones making the exclusive games that will likely take full advantage of you console and set the differences between the two systems are 1st and 2nd party developers.

And looking at the exclusives we're going to enjoy next year it seems that Sony is in clear advantge. PS3 list of exclusives for next year is bigger, more varied look a lot more promising.

We play games for play, at least I do, PS3 seem the best gaming option out there.

Since you seem to know what Microsoft has planned for next year, could you let us all in on the secret?

Take my love, take my land..

Uh..go Wii?

actually buying ips is better, look at how the 360 is raping ps3

Well, Nintendo does have Don Key (last name Kong) on their side.

Other than that, what console you prefer is subjective.

Some people prefered the GC to the Ps2. Some prefered Atari to NES/SNES.

This gen, most people prefer the Wii. How many prefer the X360/Ps3 is kind of hard to say, but it is pretty much dead on even.

It all comes down to the player. Personally, I like Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn.

- It has Graphics like an early Ps2 game.

- It has gameplay that is pretty much unchanged from a machine that was as powerful as the SNES.

- It has pretty equal music to some SNES games.

- It is still stuck in 4th gen regarding rewarding the player, and not having to do the same thing over and over again.

I'm sure that most of you would find the game horrible. For several people, that is the same case with your favourite games.

It isn't actually possible to prove the quality of a game by other means than sales.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

The quality of a game and the fun you have with it is very subjective, but it can't either be proven by sales. Sales are important but are not an indicative of a game being better of another.

The point was that 1st and 2nd parties developers make the difference. The most praised games on each console are usually developed by them and are the ones people are more proud of because they can't be played on other systems.
