Doubtful Nintendo would show off such a big game at VGA Spike Awards. Nintendo announces big things either in their own conferences or at E3/TGS.

I would rule out a new Mario.

Some other main series game that has not been on Wii yet OR Zelda.

It could be a new super mario bros 2 for the DS ^^ or maybe a Super mario bros 4 for the virtua console ^^

I think we can safely say there will not be a new Mario game on Wii in 2009. Just too soon after Galaxy. I would even be suprised with 2010. But I hope they give us a New Super Mario Bros 2 next year which is based on Mario 3 the way New Super Mario Bros is based on Mario 1.

I tend to think that it's just a generic symbol, its message being "and maybe more that we cna't tell you about yet! maybe?"

It doesn't mean anything Nintendo-related. Don't get your hopes up.

Well, Miyamoto did recently confirm that the next Mario title was in the works, but I seriously doubt this is related to it.

Exactly, these are like the last people they'd give an exclusive too... i mean they're really HDcentric.
