Wii/DS FTMFW!! Go nintendo!

Around the Network

Well considering in the UK you can currently get an Arcade console + 2 pads (1 wireless) and Lego Indiana Jones + Kung fu panda in addition to 5 Xbox Arcade games for £127.

Why would you choose the PS3...seriously?

I'm just interested really in how and why a console once cheaper then the PS3 and not outselling it, now has a slightly cheaper price and is outselling it.

Wii still rules though.

No it really is quite a bit lower in price, particularly with bundles.  Even where people buy the accessories and take the price up comparable to the PS3 most of the time (in my experience) they have no idea this is the case.  They simply see what looks like one core console package vs another.

The other factor driving the big swing is the economy.  Right now the difference between the two is magnified for a lot of people, making them all the more likely to take the cheaper option even if it only means a relatively small saving.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Everyone knows PS3 will fail, It's common sense PS3 will fail because i say it will, Playstation brand no more!!!!!!!

I know your post is sarcasm but I figure I;ll reply anyways.

People need to stop the trolling against Sony. Sony is doing VERY well considering the price point and the fact the year over year Sony has greatly increased marketshare and number of console sales that the PS3 has.

Using our hardware chart located under Chartz you will find that this week is week 108 of the PS3's life. Comparing week 108 of the PS3 and 360 you will find that the PS3 is at 17.35m whie the 360 was only at 14.9m meaning that the PS3 is definitely selling at a faster rate than the 360 did in the same time frame.

AND At at a higher price

Oh yeah BTW PS3s are Out of stock at my local Zavvi and Gamestop, Anecdotal but thought i'd say.

Oh i miss his posts too, they were most ludicrous predictions ever, but  he will be back, they all back eventually.

On topic.

Nintendo is pulling some magical numbers.

what i find funny is all these sony fanboys spouting off about its cause of price its cause of price. the problem wit that is last gen the gamecube had great games no doubt. and it has and was the cheapest of all the consoles but yet ended up last. but the ps2 was more expensive and had great games and shovelware as well. this is the point i think alot of people is trying to make. the price to alot of consumers doesnt matter. its what makes that console unique and different. the ps2 was different then the others last gen so it got the majority of sales. this gen its the wii. the ps3 does equal the 360 just like the gamecube equaled the xbox. so to make a long rant short the ps3 is in the same predicament that the gamecube was in last gen and even if they lowered the price really low it really doesnt bring anything to the table different thent he 360. u might say but what about blue ray? alot of blueray players got sold seperately on black friday cause it was 1/4 of the price of the ps3. the lower the ps3 price the lower the blueray player is and is more tempting to buy instead of getting the ps3. unlike the ps2 which was a better deal for easily a year or two before the price of the dvd players dropped off big.

dick cheney loves me, he wants to take me hunting

well this is is, sony does not care how much they sell....what a stupid guys i dont have any faith anymore that the ps3 can win from the x360.....the giant has fallen.

DS bigger then i expected, others doing fine

Not unexpected though. Sony had NO pricecut and still managed to sell 170,000 systems in just one region. I would not call this a failure but a delay in what's to come for PS3. It isn't that it's doing bad just not as good as we would like it to. Still great for 360 but, once again, this is not a shocker. $200 vs $400 - Yes 360 will continue this, especially during this time of an Economic Crisis the likes which we have not seen since the Great Depression.

Are you aware that these new numbers are the same week R2 launched in Others? 360 had no releases. And PS3 is beat nearly 2:1 in others. Thats pretty poor imo.
