What is the maximum amount that can won on an individual bet in the Predictions League?  For example if you bet 100 vg$, were 100% accurate and the average accuracy was 0% then what would your winnings be?  I'm guessing 200 vg$ is the maximum amount.

I noticed that in the Nov 15 bet that Banjo-Kazooie had an average accuracy of 0% which would make the bet multiplier undefined.

I think the maximum is 2:1... so yes if you bet $100, you would get $200 back ($100 profit)

In this case, I'm still waiting on Talonman to send me the equation used so I actually know what is going on. So I don't really have a clue.

Based on winnings I've seen, I would agree with TWRoO

I always thought it was like this.

On every single item, there is a "pot". It is how much everyone put in together.

How much you get of this pot, is how much you put in * % better or worse than average + 1

The average (not the one said in the prediction league), is how good the money was put. 

For instance.

Total money put: 5000 VG$

10 people set 100, all have 100% accuracy

2 people set 2000 each, have 20% accuracy

The one shown in the prediction league is 86.66%, but the real (payout) is 40%.

So the 2 people get out 2000 * 0.8 = 1600 each

And the 10 people get 100* 1.6 = 160 * 10 = 1600 each

This also leads to the number given out not being exactly as large as the total put in, so if everyone is good, so the larger the difference, the less is paid out.

@Oyvoyvoyv - The average accuracy is 86.66% which does not take into account the size of the bets, but I'm not sure where 40% came from.  A weighted average of the bet * accuracy is 36%.  Using 36% in your calculations would give:

[10*(100*1)+2*(2000*0.2)]/5000 = 0.36

2000 bet with 20% accuracy = 2000 * [1 - (0.36 - 0.2)] = 1680

100 bet with 100% accuracy = 100 * [1 - (0.36 - 1)] = 164

2*1680 + 10*1640 = 5000

Using this method would not create money which makes sense.  However, from the Nov 11 standings it shows that collectively $496 were won (generating money).  Also this method doesn't remotely follow the rules.

the rules are accurate, except it doesn't clarify what the cap is.

And yes, the league generates money (actually quite a bit) which you would see if you check out the prediction league standings thread.

EDIT: I just checked, and the average return on investement is ~5% and growing. So for every $100 you put in the league, you can expect on average to make $5.
