I always thought it was like this.
On every single item, there is a "pot". It is how much everyone put in together.
How much you get of this pot, is how much you put in * % better or worse than average + 1
The average (not the one said in the prediction league), is how good the money was put.
For instance.
Total money put: 5000 VG$
10 people set 100, all have 100% accuracy
2 people set 2000 each, have 20% accuracy
The one shown in the prediction league is 86.66%, but the real (payout) is 40%.
So the 2 people get out 2000 * 0.8 = 1600 each
And the 10 people get 100* 1.6 = 160 * 10 = 1600 each
This also leads to the number given out not being exactly as large as the total put in, so if everyone is good, so the larger the difference, the less is paid out.
