In terms of games, then probably, but in terms of sales? No way. Not even in terms of software.



End of '08 predictions (made by theprof00): PS3: 20m, 360: 23.5m, wii: 42m

Now Playin':  PS3|Resistance 2, LBP, Uncharted and Fifa 09, PSP| Ratchet and Clank: Size matters, 360| Gears of war 2 and Fallout 3.

It depends on what way you'd like to compare. XBOX 360 is similar to the PS2 in the way that it has captured the mainstream teen audience, but in no way shares the dominance the PS2 had across the whole market. The wii is more similar , it has the massive mainstream appeal the PS2 had, and its also the weakest console of this gen. Its also selling alot of software, and will probably be getting alot of third party support before it burns out.



Support good third party games on wii. Buy games like house of the dead overkill, de blob, madworld, the conduit and boom blox.

Gregory thinks the 360 will reach more than 60 million... laughable... really it is.

Why is that so laugable? People seem to believe the Ps3 will sell over 100M, but that rarely gets criticised.

 

Okay, but 360 and 60M.

 

It will probably be at 27M by the end of the year. If this gen lasts untill very late 2012/early 2013, it is possible.

That means it has ~ 4 years left. 8.25M a year.

Now, the 360 could easily do as well as in this year next year, and sell 10M.

By then it is likely to see a slight drop-off, to perhaps 8.5M

Then it drops off further, and sells ~ 7M.

And in its final year before its successor arrives, it sells 5M.

 

It now needs to sell 3M after 720 (or whatever) has arrived. Easily possible.

 

 

Now, this is of course optimistic, but it isn't the BCS, and it is within the possible ranges.

 

The 360 could very well make 60M. It isn't likely to, but it is far from very unlikely.

 Yes I am a raving fanboy.... The 360 has never been number 1 since all 3 console have been out.... yet 360 fanboys are calling it the next ps2... if that is not raving fanboyism, I dont know what is...

Also I think it is quite silly to say "This does not deserve a reply" and then reply. A weak attempt at trying to discredit what I was saying.



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
