A question about your December prediction for the Wii. You are predicting 2 million in NA. If you follow the same proportions that they are shipping to Japan and Others, they would ship a total of just under 5 million worldwide. I think this is a bit too high for only one month. I don't think they can do this.

Just to be more specific, it would be 1.64 million for Japan and 1.33 million for others. That would total 4.97 total.

With the high numbers for November also, I don't think they built up this much supply.

I expect high, but not that high.

so for the WII what are you percentage of probability for a real shortage.... I'd like your advise to know if I gonna stock a couple now and put them for sale on EBay in December.... and it's for a noble cause... I want to get one for my roommate for his going away party :)

I think a shortfall of the Wii could really benefit an even lower price Xbox 360 Core Bundle $279 its right where some parents would be willing to make the leap and grab the system and some games.

It'd be great if there was another price drop of $249/$299/$349 across the board, but I can't see that happening.

ps3 now will have some games.. so, i think sales will increase by 30% =)
so - 143k 182k 195k 494k 1131k Total - 2145k
and i hope, there will be some 80GB PS3 alone (not in bundle with motorstorm) for 500$, just don`t know when, but probably in november.

Those are monthly U.S sales, this is what I think

This is the likely scenerio, by the end of january.

PS3 to do a minimum of 3.5m - in the US - until the end of year (or even Jan)??

Even with the price cut, and new games - it won't do more than 250k for each of the next 3 months. 750k.

That leaves Nov/Dec. Sales might double in November, and double again (or 2.5x) in December. That is a maximum of 500k + 1.2m in Dec.

Add that all up, and it comes to around 2.5m - maximum (maybe scrape 3m). 3.5m as a min, is very, very optimistic. 

There will need to be another significant price cut/announcement/release by the end of the year to push these numbers. Remember its only sell 40k/week at the moment (and at that rate, its only 1m for the rest of the year!).

I thought 22 Millions in the fiscal year? It started about March (5.9 Million Units). If you count shipped = Sold meaning they have about 18 Millions left til march (not 12). Also keep in mind, the only region the Wii is avaible any time at the moment is Others (Europe). It got a big share of the already increased production. Makes sense to Nintendo, they have the strongest competition there. Also I think, Nintend is keeping that number "low". I think they can ship more (25 Millions). I think they upping prodiction big time at the moment, and america is getting this time the big piece of the pie. I think the Wii will be avaible in North America begin of september. Either that or the numbers sold get trough the roof this month. I excpect Nintendo to ship every week more to NA this month. I think the shipments at begin of September will be 150-175k a week.


Nope you are actualy wrong here, they were supposed to ship 14 millions Wii for fiscal year 07, then they raised that to 16.5 millions, or roughly 22 millions totally.

Do you really think that the american market will get 4.5 millions Wii during this autumm, that is almost half that should be availible WW. I think that sounds a little bit to much, if nintendo doesn't raise the shippment forcast again.
