Does the Arcade come with a hard drive? If not, I would make at least a 60 gig hard drive your first priority over a second controller.

I agree with twesterm, I would go for a HDD next.  Even a 20gb is better than than the miserable little memory cards.

I'm heading to bed, but I actually read every post. What I find just downright disturbing is ... the backlash from Sony fans over Col.'s decision. You call him a traitor, said he'll regret his decision and pretty much disown him. Wow ... what will he have to look forward to if he decides after college that he'll pick up a PS3 again?

I have seen threads where a person who owns a 360 or Wii buy a PS3 or a 360 or a Wii and the said group will celebrate with them. Not with the PS3 control group. From the vast majority of PS3 fans here, all I have read was pure-tee hate and a hint of fear. Fear that folks will see the light - that the PS3 isn't the second coming - and realize that while it was cool a couple years ago to invest in potential, now, folks are giving serious consideration to a system that was laughed at, taunted, ridiculed for failure - and is achieving a victory against a formidable foe.

Even if it's locked, words are forever - and the hard-core Sony and SDF types have their immaturity plastered all over these boards. So sad. You don't see more than a handful of folks from the 360 and Wii side condemning folks. No, we all realize in the end, it's just a game.

Col. Stubby, I recommend Halo 3, Fable 2, Test Drive Unlimited, Call of Duty 2, Mass Effect, Ace Combat 6 and try the demos on LIVE.

And Col. - even if you change your mind and head back to the Sony camp, you'd earned mad respect for broadening your horizons. +1.

Please don't categories the "majority" of PS3 fans as these hate posts are coming from about 5-7 people.

None of those 5-7 people you mention got a ban.... and yet i did for the post where i was defending him and saying exactly what madskills is saying above... why is that??  I guess Montana really hates me for some reason.  Apparently my performance in this thread was "terrible"?

one of two possible reasons

A) he expects better from 360 fanboys and doesn't want us to stoop to their level
or
B) he doesn't like 360 fanboys (I was actually surprised to learn when he purchased a 360)

You probably want to go ahead and at least do the mail order 20GB harddrive for 20$. If not i'd plan to pick up at least a 60gig hard drive like Twesterm suggested. You should be able to find some good local deals on controllers if not I'm sure you can sure you can find them online if you don't mind the shipping. Otherwise enjoy your purchase!

It's $30 but you may be able to get it for less on Ebay.  I also recommend this.  And then he should figure out someway to get his 360 online.  Microsoft sells a $100 wifi option but there are less expensive ways to go about it.  I also recommend a used 2nd controller, as long as it is wireless.  OMG, to think, some people still use wired controllers.

I do, I'm too lazy to change batteries in and out and it eats up money in the long run. I also have this paranoia about overcharging and battery charge cycles, when it comes to the charge kits. I have 4 wireless controllers, but I always end up using my wired controller that came with my Core system. Wired is also lag free, like hard wired internet.

I'm kind of disappointed with how Sony did their controllers. The rechargeable battery is built into the controller and if the batter dies, your controller is useless. You can only recharge a rechargeable battery so many times before it can no longer hold a charge.

The loudest ones on this thread making noise are PS3 fans mad/upset/angered/disturbed/insert your sad verb here __________ by Col. decision. Where in the post did he say he invited criticism for his decision? Please - understand some folks are tired of drinking the Jim Jones Kool-Aid and see the PS3 as less than stellar.

BTW, Col. - I am madskillzceo on LIVE.

The verb I choose to insert:  cookies.

I failed English class.

You fail English? That's unpossible.

 Bravo, man, bravo.

I agree on the Sony Sixaxis controller battery comment.  I think they really dropped the ball by using an internal battery.  I would have to say at least 20 times I have been in the middle of an epic 50-kill slaughter fest on COD4, and my battery would crap out on me and die.  That really gets annoying after about the first time.

colonelstubbs, there is nothing to be sorry about. 360 is a great console and I can understand why you traded in the ps3, especially during sony's tough time.
