I say about the same as Gears of War 2 on PS3.

50-60m lifetime.
I expect the same numbers from Halo 3 on the PS3.

1,950,000 lifetime

360 install base by the time it arrived would be 30+ million

Achievements come as standard in every 360 retail game and theres a lot of achievement hunting whores out there (myself included)

contrary to reports not everyone who likes metal gear solid went out to buy a ps3 so i beleive it could sell better than some expect it to.

No it wouldn't. You have no proof to have come up with that answer. If thats so, then GTA wouldn't have sold more on the Xbox 360. Metal Gear solid would've sold 8-9 million worldwide LTD leaning with higher sales on the 360.

I dont get it, if you 360 owners want MGS4 so much? Why dont you just buy a PS3?

As a 360 owner I will say.  The reason I picked up a PS3 was for MGS4.  I have yet to buy a second game, and I got it in June.  I don't think it would sell very well at all.  Cause those people that wanted to play it got a PS3 just to play it, and maybe for the ocational ble-ray movie.
