Forums - Gaming - What Is Everyone's Problem with GTA IV?

Er... madskillz those were all points that GTAIV does not have. They are all features in San Andreas, and most of them in Vice City. Even some in GTAIII. GTAIV took a step back so far it went further back than GTAIII. It's somewhere between that and the 2D games, which is frankly pretty damn pathetic. San Andreas may have lost some of the witty humor, but at least it added more to do in its place. GTAIV is a shell of a game. An incomplete mess of GTA, and yes, Saints Row 2 is better.

Forgive me for reading over the part where you were saying that was all removed. Too much turkey and a wii bit tired.

It was overhyped and wasn't great as the past gtas in the series.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

It was boring for me after playing it for a while. It got great city and good visuals. But Nico is just boring character. He just some freelancer killer, who goes from one boss to another and kills everyone. I was expecting to see Russian Mafia from the inside in this game, but it even shows Italian Mafia better then this. I guess it just nobody really able to show Russian Mafia correctly ;)

And I am not fond of cars and stuff.

The physics killed it for me. I played all 3 GTAs on PS2 and SA was my fav. In GTAIV they just tried to be TOO realistic and added alot of nonsense for my taste. The TV Internet drunk effects. Plus they completly ruined driving imo.

My friend diehard GTA fan was also disappointed. It didnt feel the same to both of us.

Just face it!

The game sucks compared to San Andreas!

We need to proceed, not recede.

The game is only made long by repetetive delivery quests. Great and fun game, but that 40 hours it took for me to finish it had many boring/frustrating times.

As others said, not worth the perfect 10 score. Definitely at least a 9.0 though.

i hate it because it was overrated and there was little to do except run around and deliver, all aside from the many technical issues.

Well, I was dissapointed because it was just more of the same. The only place the game has moved, is in the graphics department, and after an hour of gametime, I couldn't care less. The game has the same problems the other GTA games did ... It's just not very fun playing the actual game.

If GTA4 held a metacritic score of 93, I can guarantee you there would be far less hate for it.

Can anybody really deny that it is overrated? They took out the tanks!
