Recycle content meaning drive here and do that, drive here and do that. Something new would totally make the franchise something special again.

Is it really possible to make an substantial differences to the series?

Yes there is a possiblility.

Epic Games did it with Gears of War 2. Bungie did it with Halo 3 and several other developers did it to. It's just been proven that the reviewers were just blind by the hype of the game rather than the content itself. The story was just downright boring. The whole sandbox genre is getting real old. You just go here and do this and do that.

Rockstar needs to know the franchise is beginning to get stale real quick. The only and I will say this, the only reason I want to buy GTA IV again is for achievement purposes. It's fun trying to get achievements in games. And this is this games only advantage.

Overall this game might target the casual audience but for people that have been with this franchise since its switch to the 3D era. Well its just getting repetitive and we need something new.

Well I ask myself why everyone has so few problems with it. It was the highest rated metacritic game ever for a while.

I have no real problem with it, nor any interest in it

I didnt like the all city terrain, I liked in SA going out in the county side in truck, That was always fun.

Yes it is the best GTA, but its getting very old, there is nothing new just upgraded visuals(which still looks like vomit on screen), everything else is the same as the old GTA games, isnt a bad thing, but it certainly isnt a 9.

So, can anyone name 5 additional features that would make GTA a perfect 10? A lot of folks are criticizing the game - but few are offering suggestions - here's your chance.

For me, I like the game as is. I enjoyed GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas and now GTA IV. I would love to play an updated GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas as well.

Other than the removal of tanks, flamethrowers, any other fun weapons (and a generally reduced arsenal), planes, skydiving, vigilante missions, taxi missions, ambulance missions, firefighting missions, buying and owning property, managing businesses, real exploration rewards, diversity of environments, diversity of missions, creating and improving gangs, conquering territory, advanced character customization, eating, jetpacks, the military, a good attack helicopter, the attack plane, custom cars, custom radio station, and anything remotely resembling wit in the humor, it's a great game and the best GTA game.

If you do happen to miss that stuff (much of which was even in GTAIII), then it's the worst GTA game ever made, and a steaming piece of shit that shouldn't be rated above a 7 because all it is now is a mediocre shooter game that doesn't remotely possess any of the features that made GTA an enjoyable franchise in the past.

Of course, if you're brain can't register deeper thoughts than "oooh purty graphics and stuff goes boom" then you probably didn't notice any of these missing features, think it's a great game, and have a job in our review industry.

@madskillz

Let's see, I would like them to: ummm, idk off the bat. I'm just tired of the same old thing. Maybe I should just shut my darn mouth and actually go buy it again and then pass judgement.

lol..I'm basing a game that I haven't played since idk when and I only played like 2 missions and gave up.

So you can take me out of the equation. I want the game again.lol

I love GTAIV too, but many people were disapointed by the fact that the game was too serious compared to san andreas or vice city... Maybe too realistic too in its graphics.

But the main problem I got with this game is the useless online mode. I think that it would have been better if they focused more on the solo mode and to get rid of some technical issues.

But it's still a great game, just a good gta.

It's a perfectly good game, I would even call it great, but not at the level it was reviewed. It did not deserve 10's in my mind, and doesn't deserve to be the highest rated game on the HD systems (know this is true for PS3, assume it is for 360). It has too many technical problems to deserve those reviews in my mind.

That said, it's not the horrible game that some people make it out to be, it just doesn't live up to its reviews in my mind.

Awesome post, Naznatips.

@ XLost - I see where you are coming from - but your post kinda brings up an interesting point - what do we gamers really want? And to the complainers - what makes GTA not worthy of a 10? Is the gameplay flawed? Not trying to defend it, but Naz brings up some really awesome marks that most games - especially the ones that try to be open sandbox don't have.

@ Tremble - IMHO R* just gave the critics an online mode to shut them up. It's not perfect - but I will admit, I only played Saints Row online once. It's not the type of game I'd wanna play online. CODWAW, COD4? Halo 3? Test Drive Unlimited? Yeah. This? Not so much.

@ Torillian - I am a reviewer and take a critical look at every game I review and/or play. It's the reviewer's opinion, but sales are saying the same thing. It seems to be an awesome game.
