GTA IV was just boring in my opinion. I just couldn't get in the game. It was around the time when I was obessess with Halo 3. And I just didn't have the time to enjoy the game like I want.

I will purchase the game at a later date. The game is $30 used at Gamestop.lol
Talk about overrated. I plan on getting it.

I just think personally the formula is getting old and the game was just tooooo overrated. Rockstar and Microsoft were the ones touting it more-so and Sony was also. The sales are good but the game is just repeating the same thing it did from the previous incarnations.

GTA IV got rid many of the questionable design choices from previous games in the series.  Also, LC does feel alive.

How does it feel alive? There is nothing to do.

You enter an Irish Pub and there are no customers, not even a barkeeper.

You can't enter buildings, you can only enter strip clubs, but you can't even sit down and have a drink.

There are numerous phone numbers on buildings, but when you dial them, nothing happens.

It's stuff like that that makes a game feel alive, but GTA IV didn't have any details like that.

the game is fun but it does get boring after a while same can be said for online mode too, that was a blast to play with friends at first but it just gets dull quickly.

I really enjoyed driving around listening to those fantastic radio stations and theres even the option to add your customised soundtrack.  But I can remember the controls are a little tricky sometimes and the camera angles can get annoying during driving/shooting incidents

Well see if the DLC can turn things around.

GTA IV was buggy, glitchy, frame rate problems and the controls were terrible. The story of the game was mediocre. Game play was boring and repetitive missions: drive for hours and kill some people, babysit your cousin.

The reason I don't care for it as much as earlier entries is that it lost a lot of its fun with the realism. Before, GTA had charm and almost cartoonish exaggeration that was very enjoyable. Now, realism destroys all the joy of running around the world. It's also pretty frustrating and it is annoying how overrated it is.

Great Story

Boring online
Gameplay got dull
After beating it once I didn't bother playing again to see any possible differences in the story that I could fine. I just spent my time toying with physics and jumping out of Heli's.

Now back to the complaint show!!!

My question is - how many folks who say GTA is overrated, buggy and boring ... how many of you that said that play it on what console? I have it on the PS3 and 360, and can only speak on the 360 version because the mandatory installs scare the devil out of me.

Its a good game, im just tired of the series and dont like it at all anymore, kinda got sick of the series after san. And it kinda makes me mad it got 10/10 everywhere it was not that good....

I thought it was an excellent game and I enjoyed it a lot. It did have a few small flaws that could've been fixed. I would've prefered more variety in the missions - if there is one area where SA is better than IV its hear. The game also could've done with more distractions to break up the story sections.

The story though was good, although like any game that stretches over 30+ hours it did tend to lose its way a bit. The gameplay was solid, and rarely if ever were the controls anything less than fully responsive.
