pc fps... lol... and yes i do play both. 

a controller is more streamlined, and faster. i use my 360 controller on pc games, got a hack so i could use it on older games, can beat people who use keyboard and mouse. still hate glitchers on all systems.... 

resistance 2 is obviously the better game, un fortunatly i wont be getting it 2mro il have to wait till next week

 Good point. I played Gears 1 on my PC with a KB/M combo and swapped to my 360 controller before I got out of the prison level. That could just be due to being used to playing it like that on my 360 though.

R2 is an awesome game. My brother has a 360 with Gears 2. Honestly, I think Gears 2 MP is much more fun. R2 just feel so DONE before. Whats the chances that Gears 2 will come to PS3?

Never. As MS publishes it. You may get gears 3, if MS let it slip.

Res2 > Gears 2; for your $60.

Having played both games i find Res 2 much better.

Gears 2 has more badass cut scenes.
Res 2 has a weaker story in single player, but the intel documents is really where the story is at....however intel documents are a bad way to PRESENT your story....so Gears wins in single player/single player story. But the whole love story of gears 2 is lame!

Gears 2 has a much weaker MP. They have Horde mode and their 5v5. Its pretty much the same as b4 but with Horde mode.
Res 2's coop is an addicting TF2/WoW like experience. The 60 mulitplayer has many game types to play from. and a typical rank match is 10 vs 10.
Theres just no comparision of these games in MP...Res 2 gives you more options, better game play, and something new for the MP experience.

Mechanics

This is where I believe Gears 2 fails. Everything about the first gears that was a pain in the ass is still a pain in the ass.
1. the run button and take cover button are the same button. when running down a hallway you might take cover by accident 25 times.
2. Taking turns while running is hard.
3.The crosshairs are still large circles for most guns. I am not a fan of the huge circle crosshairs, it feels so inaccurate and annoying.

Now res2 is not perfect either...
1. Single player campaign is a learn by death experience
2.Their cover system is DUCK

just want to point out that Res 2 has customiziable controls...not sure if gears 2 does but that would be nice.

Overall I feel that Res2 has the edge because they fixed alot of issues people had with the first game(ie. health system, enemies looking the same, etc. etc.) and Gears 2 feels more like an expansion pack than a sequel. I was excited to play gears for the first time this past week however the gameplay was soooo much like the first that I just got to bored to fast.

I guess my point is that IGN did a good job with this vs video because they were honest and said the game they thought was worth your $60 if you could only buy one. This and the fact that they gave res 2 and gears 2 9.5's are the first time ill agree with IGN since the epic fail of GTA4's 10.

This thread is about two console shooters, don't try to derail it into a PC vs. console argument.

That said, at the moment I'm a 360 only owner so Gears 2 is the only choice.  Shooters gerneally my preferred genre though so down the line when I eventually get a PS3 Resistance 2 will probably be on the short list of game to get, after Uncharted.

That is the first time I have really heard someone say R2 is better than Gears (not counting the random "have only played R2 and automatically say it's better" posts).
