I think we can all agree the best lineup looks to be the PS3 for the start of 08.

Maybe in the late first quarter.  February everyones going to still be wiped out from December X-mas shopping.  Buying one game is fine, but $180 worth of must have games not counting other games you may want after the holidays is going to be a major strain after an already big strain from X-mas.

The perfect storm could end up hurting the inital sales.  Though it probably won't matter much as it's not like people will forget about GTA4 and MGS4.  Probably not Killzone either but that's a game i'd have to play a demo of first before i get behind it.

Nintendo will have Mario kart + Wii Fit + perhaps Disaster or Wii music for early 08 so they are in very good position to keep selling.

Once February rolls around, many consumers have to face the credit they've racked up over the holidays. The greatest games in the world don't overcome the fact that retail sales slow dramatically starting in February.

Which means when sales slow down in Feb that these stunning games being release at the start of 08 will have continuelly strong sales through most of 08.....possibly if everyone is broke paying off their Christmas debt.

Other than that, yes what we know of PS3 is better. The only problem I see is that I think it will be to late.

I think this hurts the 360/PS3 equally. Both Sony/MS want to sell systems - and this title would have done that on both platforms.

Although MS has "more to lose" (more 360's will sell for GTA), this could hurt Sony just as badly - if not worse.

MS now has a high profile, AAA title for start of next year - to counter MGS.

And if UT3/Haze are delayed (no reason to doubt), that does leave a big gap in the PS3 schedule.

In short - with this Xmas looking like the biggest ever, there are still plenty of titles coming out for the PS3 - even without GTA. It just moves some of the battleground to next year.

But no question that the 360 now has more big names/established (exclusive) titles coming out:

 - Halo 3, Mass Effect, Bioshock, PGR4
