Huh? Did I miss something? Since when is Sony the king of hardware? The PS3 is their first great piece of hardware (and even that developers don't like very much). PSOne and PS2 were crap: they died soon and where hard to program for. Sony is good in choosing their medium (CD-Roms, DVD), that's what's brought them so much success. Ironic that now they did make an excellent piece of hardware the medium isn't popular.

All my Nintendo consoles are still working to this very day, that's great hardware.

Most publishers are losing money during this gen though. There was a very good chart with the losses/profits of many publishers together, but I can't find it right now.

Here it is. It's really bad. Mind you, this is in a time where the vg-industry is experiencing extraordinary growth.

WOOOW! Nintendo are really killing every single video game devs out there. I wonder how much games are going to be casual next gen and this really scares the hell out of me.

After reading 15 pages of this stuff, I come to the conclusion that the PS3 is in a giant hole in which I doubt it could ever get out from. The fanboy comments back and forth, the laughs, and all that were a sight to behold, but the shocking truth is tha the console wars have arguably been decided as of today:

Wii>360>PS3, after I thought the PS3 would make a comeback. Another game was canceled for the PS3 this week (Destroy All Humans), and marketshare for the system keeps dwindling. Another thing that came to my mind was, "Kingdom Hearts 3 isn't going to the PS3, not when it is like this." The problem with al this doom and gloom is that it might make Nintendo lazy with all their success, but Microsoft and the 360 might offset that.

The point is, it is ironic that on Thanksgiving Day, Sony and the PS3 have NOTHING to be thankful for. Happy holidays.

Yeah it really isn't looking such a good holiday season for Sony at all. They need to do something and quick. A price-cut in 2009 might be a bit too much for Sony to handle on as then I think 360's lead will be at least 8 million which is TBH monstrous and Sony will have to start all the way again. Games are getting cancelled left, right and centre for sony so they need to give Devs some incentives as well. Overall Blu-ray was a bad decision for sony in terms of games but a excellent decision for Sony pictures.

This thing just gives me warm and happy feeling that in the future HC gaming will be mainly on PC. :)

I really don't think it would be a great lost if Sony stop making videogames...

I mean... why Killzone or Resistance when we have the better Halo and Gears? Why Ratchet if we have Mario?

Are you mad? After the last 2 gens you are saying it won't be a big loss? Wow! And PS3 is a great console as well.
