Forums - Nintendo - Is the Wii getting cancelled PS2 games?

I was thinking about this, the Wii has been getting alot of PS2 looking games (graphic wise). Most of these games tend to have very bad control patterns with the Wii as if they were "tacked on". Because alot of people were hopping onto the PS2 bandwagon and I'm sure some games got cancelled. So, are alot of companys bringing games back that were half-done for the PS2 and putting them out on the Wii? It would make sense from a cash-cow point of view. I mean you could just bring back I game that would need very little funding to finish with the potential to make alot of money. The PS2 isn't dead. There isn't any single reason for any developer/publisher to cancel a PS2 game.
What you're talking about was correct with th DC stuff going to PS2/XBOX/GC.

Yeah... I would also say that there is no reason for any game to be canceled on the ps2 and moved to the Wii. But what you say about the control applies a little. Just finished playing Godfather: Blackhand Edition. The controls are what makes this game good. But the lock aiming is a bit weird. I know that it is like that because of the way the game used to play on the ps2.

It will sale more being released on Wii/PS2 then just the wii. Maybe you mean old PS2 ports, you see their release dates on the wii sometime soon but no PS2 version since it came out years ago..

Well, almost all 3rd party Wii games will be ported to PS2 to get them more cash. So, that is why most of them are similar b/c they are PS2 ports.

Some of you are misunderstanding what I meant. I'm saying say there was a game you were making 2 years ago and it was almost finish but the team decided not to put the game out and stop working on it for whatever reason. Then all of a sudden you have this new system that has a new control style and a chance to make money off of a game that you may have thought wasn't going to sale. And yeah i get what your saying about there is no reason to cancel a PS2 game but games still get cancelled for every single system.

I predict many Nintendo fans will come in and point out how PS2 ports are great for the Wii and/or how cancelled PS2 games coming to the Wii is extremely good.

 I seriously doubt it.  Game do in fact get canceled all the time, but it's generally because the game isn't fun (won't make money).  A publisher isn't likely to bring back a canceled game for tacked on motion controls.

Your prediction is closer to being correct. More games on the wii is good for nintendo fans. Does anyone think that getting games on their system of choice is a bad thing?
