@jhon: That means there's no excuse for the Wii performing worse if one of their competitors are seeing a very healthy increase. If 360 sales are up, so can the Wii sales. It's just a matter of SW really.

So can you explain the PS3 situation too??

The PS3 saw a price cut last year, next year it didn't. It also saw 3 big releases altogether. That's why I believe PS3 situation is gonna get better, cause there's 3 big games coming up and a new bundle.

Wii has ran out of big guns for this year, so the situation reflects what's going on.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Were these the MC charts though? Maybe Famitsu will have the Wii higher. I do agree there is beginning to be a problem for Wii in Japan though. Maybe it's time for a price cut or new colours. Those Japanese love new colours/ limited editions etc.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

the price cut for ps3 did very little, it was mostly the games. MGS4 did more for the ps3 than the price cut. MGS4 week ps3 had the highest sales week ever besides launch week.

23. [PS3] Rachet & Clank: Mission to Mars Ignition (SONY) - whats this?

A typo, platform should be PSP.

Why is AC at 350k on this one?

Either a typo, or the other numbers didn't include Wii Speak bundle.

You're comparing last year's Winning Eleven launch week to the week prior to Winning Eleven release this year.

No wonder SE didn't even bother to release FFXIII on 360 in Japan. Expect similar numbers for SO4 because even after so many JRPGs in recent times on 360, they still barely sell 100k first week and 120-130k LTD one after another. MS must be paying huge amount of money to SE and other companies because they are losing at least 400k-500k sales on PS3.

What makes you think it would sell more on PS3. The highest selling RPG is Valkyria Chronicles @ 150k. Blue Dragon and Vesperia sold more on a much smaller userbase.

400k-500k is ridiculous. There are only 3 PS3 games over 400k atm.

To be fair, Valkyria Chronicles is an SRPG.  It's only 20k behind Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn in Japan, the only other big SRPG release this gen.  It also released a good four months after Fire Emblem.

And this time the ps2 version of PES has been delayed.  It won't hit until early 2009.
