Forums - Sony - I'm amazed by GT5P sales.

^Yeah, keep believing that. Just look at the sales in the US for MGS4, from one week to the other....it fell like a freaking ROCK!!!! Bundles help a lot. Like it or not

That happens with the release of any big hardcore game, except for the rare exceptions like Call of Duty 4.

Also, the ps3's sales spiked massively upon the release of MGS4.  Yes, a large portion of MGS4's sales were due to bundles...which makes sense given the fact that the vast majority of ps3s sold that week were bought by people waiting for MGS4.  They would've bought the game either way.

^ ok, w/e. I wasnt talking about going from week one to week two, but when the bundles were gone. But, w/e helps you sleep. Bundles are great help. And the MGS4 sales were really solid in the US thanks to the bundles, when they were gone, MGS4 started falling and falling. I called that one and several people in here said that i was trolling.... and just like that, MGS4 changed from having good solid stable sales every week.... to, well....going down.

And that has nothing to do with already selling 88% of people who bought the 3rd installment... without getting its infamous Kojima "substance" re-release treatment yet? So your telling me that a game should have steady sales up until the end of its life? even if its sold to pretty much as many users had the previous edition to the franchise? (Use some logic)

One thing its bundeled and the other thing is even being Just a half a game its still bad***.

Well....compare MGS4 to lets say....and to examples that come to my mind really fast and are not even bundled..... Smash bros & mario kart wii ^^ Even mario galaxy, is higher in the US than MGS4.

But thats not my point.... my point is that bundles REALLY help games. Even though people don't give credit for it.

MGS4 never started "falling and falling".

It was selling a constant ~90k every two weeks for three months after it came out:

If it started "falling and falling" at any point, it was at mid-September.

I work in retail, and the MGS4 bundles were pretty hard to find after the first week.  They came back into supply somewhat regularly by mid-July, but died off by late August.  There's no way in hell you would've been able to find one by mid-September.

Now you're comparing MGS4 to franchises that have always been far more successful?

The only legimitate comparison would be MGS4 to MGS 2 and 3.  It's well on it's way to passing up MGS3, despite the fact that the bundles have long since ended.  Hell, it's only now entering its first holiday season, while MGS3 released in November.

There were bundles in september in game stop and wal mart..... i even had a discussion with DMJ about it. And not planning to get into another one so.... i'll just retire. It's pointless
