I agree with most people here, Miyamoto should have this.

I'll throw my vote in for miyomoto, the man is a gaming legend.
Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?
Wow. Now that was bullshit. I'm going to ignore what everyone else is focusing on, being the choice of Hideo Kojima as the award winner. While he definitely wouldn't have been my first choice either, I would say he does reside somewhere in the top 20 most to be considered.
My problem is how shitty the award was itself. Kojima got a lifetime achievement award for just the Metal Gear Solid series? What a way to ignore his other contributions to the medium, with the earlier Metal Gears, Policeanuts, Snatcher, Zone of the Enders and Lunar Knights. This would be the equivalent of Al Pacino getting a lifetime achievement award for his roles in the Godfather series, totally negating every other brilliant performance he put out.
Bottom line, MTV doesn't know shit about videogames and I would totally put a child in Jade Raymond's belly without question.

meh. I've seen her on PC before, and she's just a bunch of pixels.
Fully agree with the rest of your post though.

Proud Sony Rear Admiral
Kojima's a great developer and all, but... lifetime achievement award? I agree, it should go to Miyamoto. Will Wright should also get a lifetime achievement award, Ken Kutaragi should (and has).
Why don't we stop complaining about who didn't get the award and congratulate the one who did? >_>

You don't see any problem with Kojima getting a lifetime achievement award for only a portion of his body of work? MTV says all we should remember Kojima for is Metal Gear Solid, and his other contributions are mere dust bunnies to be swept under the rug. Maybe you with the MGS4 signature may have no problem with that, but some of us would like to recognize these guys for more than just their most popular games.

Like when he got the Oscar for Scent of a Woman, but did'n get it for better performances as in Serpico, The Godfather II, Scarface Dog Day Afternoon, ...And Justice for All, Dick Tracy or Glengarry Glen Ross...

I don't see how what I posted has anything to do with that...

That's because, as Onyxmeth already pointed out, your bias blinds you. |
Nobody asked you. Nobody ever does. I was just wondering why he directed that at me when all I suggested was less "Miyamoto's better" and more "Good on ya Kojima" :>
