I've been here a pretty long time, since March of 2007. Things have settle down a bit. There are plenty of fanboys around, but things in general are calmer. The maturity level isn't much higher, but that is probably because this is a videogame website. But there are plenty of mature users on the site.
The mods have gotten a little stricter and a little looser. It just kind of depends on the particular issue.
The website itself has made phenomenal strides forward, and really is something to behold now compared to what it was when it started.

I'm 4285. I joined in May '07, but didn't really start posting until July, when I was banned from GameSpot. Looking back, that was the best thing on the internet to ever happen to me. The community here is far superior* to GmeSpot's.
I remember those days. Some people accused Soriku of being a Gballzack alt account. 
*Superior with the exception of certain accounts, like the non-ps3 owning maxwellgt, the incredibly annoying killzone 2 fanboy squilliam4u, and the drunk with power naznatips.
I think Zucas is or maybe i got it mixed it up with somebody else.

Lucky # 14304.......I joined close to a year ago........lurked for 4 or 5 months before joining. It's actually due to a GameFAQS thread with people "arguing" that led me to discover VGC.
I joined in early 08', although I was lurking for some time. You know, back in the "every thread in the MS forum is a flame or bashing thread" days.
Glad things have changed, although it still pisses me off that some people just got more subtle, yet smart people know their true intentions anyway, and can't do anything about them.
And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... 147 and been here since monthly numbers before that. Haha I even remember when VGC was in its infant state as I started searching around for sales of games in late 2005. Either VGC took numbers from of those early sites or was apart of it, but yea.
So I'm a vet but I never really started posting consistently here until mid 2007. Used this site simply for information not discussion.
