Honestly, what the heck.  I'll admit that that I am somewhat of a Sony fanboy.  I grew up with their systems, and for good reasons.  But I'll be realistic, 360 is doing a good job.  Although the only game I find worth playing is Gears Of War (2), I can see why others like the library.  But come on, PS3 is doomed.  It is closing the gap.  50% of a gamefaqs poll saying they dont want one( and 60% of that same poll saying they will end up getting one) does not mean it is doomed.  Are Gran Turismo 5, God Of War 3, Killzone 2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and future Resistance's, Motorstorm's, Uncharted's, LittleBigPlanet's and Ratchet's, as well as other exclusives like Team ICO's next project and Infamous not worth mentioning.  Come on, this is Sony.  Brand strength, the cheapest Blu Ray player on the market, and Home's casual appeal( regardless in public interest on the decline) as well as games will keep them in the market, regardless of if they "win" or not".  Personally, I think the PS3 will overtake the 360, but thats another discussion...

     Also, I find that GT CEO's or whatever remarks extremely asinine.

They are pretty pointless threads, the PS3 is only "doomed" if Sony lets it become that.

Well, honestly, I'm tired of all these types of threads:

3rd party games don't sell on Wii;
I just got an RROD;
I just sold [insert console name here];
etc.

The PS3 has not been the cheapest Blu ray player for a really long time now. They are sub $300 now I think, and have been in the $300 range for a very long time.

 i agree with this, sony's not a company that will sit back and watch them lose marketshare. they are as much of a power hungry company as microsoft. they're in it to play beyond and i will garuntee you they will. microsoft is doin much much better than last generation people are actually thinking about the possibility of gettin a 360 or ps3. last gen it was just ps2 hands down no questions asked. microsoft has put their name out now worldiwde and would not be suprised if not this generation, next generation microsoft comes out top. I have a ps3 and i bought it at launch but next gen i might start out with a ms console cuz i have a feeling their gna be the ones to truly bring online to the world in a way we have not seen yet.

The four I crossed out are not worth mentioning. As great as they are, they're not going to be pushing anything enough to save the PS3 (not that it needs saving in the first place). God of War didn't even sell that much in comparison to the PS2's userbase, MotorStorm hasn't been doing very well and the original has only achieved high numbers because of bundling, Ratchet's sales have been rather lackluster, and as great as the heavenly Team ICO or whatever they're called is, from what I can tell, their games are overrated when it comes to moving systems.

Oh god I agree. I am seriously annoyed with all of these threads! Sure, there were '360 is doomed' threads a few months ago, but not this many!
