6 weeks left.  Makes it a weekly average gain required of 154,886.  Provided the 100K difference remains true for the next 6 weeks it makes it fall short of 300K units.   That's pretty close and with expected gains in Japan with The Last Remnant hitting it may bring it closer to 200K.  Has there ever been a closer year?

As the sales increase over the next few weeks the absolute gap will increase even if the % gap decreases. Its very possible, and I notice someones copied something of mine!

You can't put price cut AND cheaper...

Here's a new one:

PS3 + Blu-ray + Games - more expensive < Xbox 360 + cheaper + Games.

However, the one on the right is not greater by 1 million, so I stand by my conclusion that PS3 will win 2008 overall.

It will be a draw, that is quite sure. Nobody can exactly say how many consoles have been sold to customers. According to NPD VGC undertracked the Xbox360 around 100k last month. But do we know that NPD is point on?

a +/- 300k range is a draw.

It has less then 900k to gain back. Same period for last year was neck and neck sales wise.

However this year is different because 360 is now selling more then PS3 each week in europe and is selling a lot more in NA. While even Japan sales are different for 360. As we draw into the holiday period if these trends continue then the 360 could easily surpass the PS3 and sell more then that by end of 2008.
But for it to happen means the 360 on average must have a gap over the PS3 by at bare minimum 130k each week.
So while i think the 360 will go on to sell loads this holiday im just unsure it can sustain that gap for the entire 6 weeks. The next 2 weeks will show if it will make it back or not i think.

Unless sony will make a pricecut priceadd X360 won't outsell the PS3 in 2008.

Now it seem likely Xbox 360 will outsell the ps3 in 2008

i highly doubt it and the PS3 will be sold out on Black Friday due to that one day price drop

 Somehow i doubt a $50 (£25) drop will make any difference at all. The fact that you could almost buy the other two consoles for the price of just 1 PS3 make a huge difference to people wanting to buy one. All the fanboys have their PS3 already. Were down now to the casual unique market and figures show they want more for less.

So im willing to take that bet that it wont be sold out and this black friday we will see 360 sales of 2-1 over the PS3 meaning it will be on course to surpass PS3 sales for 2008.
