I would of understood a marginal Wii/DS showing but this is just insulting to Nintendo in general. These guys have their collective heads up their collective asses. Intellectually honest critical review does not differ this much from sales growth. I think this list shows how out of touch these guys are with the market when their list disagrees so strikingly with sales numbers.

And just to silence some of the fanboys in advance, I am by no means saying anything bad about the games that made the list. All I am saying is I think a lot of good Nintendo games were ruled out for superficial reasons and probably not given a fair chance.

With that said this is not a big deal ultimately and I doubt it will really effect very many people's opinions.

award winners and public opinion (sale results) are two different things my friend..... look McDonald's is the most succesful fastfood in the world but it's certainly not the one serving the best food quality.... and that's true for a lot of things in life.....

^Subtle jab at the Wii? I'll take it, LOL. No need to respond.

4 Xbox 360 exclusives (including 360/PC games), 2 PS3 exclusives, 0 Wii exclusives.

1 DS game and 0 PSP games.

Rock Band got 3 awards, Mass Effect got 2. The only games with multiple awards.

Killzone Killzowned the graphics department next to games like Crysis and COD 4 wich says something...

I wonder if the MGS 4 game demo was at E3 instead of a week after in Japan, if it would have won something. Still it wouldn't have been playable by critics so probably not.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

well it wasn't my real intention.... my statement is also valid the other way... it's not because a game is great and award winner... that it is going to sell well...... I was more trying to point out the fact that public taste and award winner are not especialy alike....

but just out of curiosity what games in particular for which category are you talking about ??? and don't forget the requirement you need to be in the competition... maybe the game you are thinking of didn't meet those requirements at that E3....

If it doesn't matter much why are you freaking out? What Wii game other than Mario Galaxy should have appeared on this list?

Critical and popular success don't always come together, the best rated movies don't always sell the most. Same with everything in life.

Super Mario Galaxy was disqualified from that list because it wasn't in playable form, Super Smash Brothers Brawl wasn't even there, and Metroid Prime 3 was up against Bioshock and maybe, just maybe, they liked Bioshock better.

The only thing that might have been overlooked as far as Nintendo goes is Wii Fit.

But seriously the Nintendo fans who are complaining need to stop whining because it's just like the Sony fans whining over Lair's review scores, there's no hate conspiracy so lets just move on.

hum I'm not sure you read correctly... it's special award commendation..... it wasn't competing with COD4 and Crysis at any moment as it was impossible for it to be in the competion.... it was easy to win that award for KZ as clearly WII games are not fit for that one in the first place and MS totaly avoided to show any games for next year except a thin minority..... I think MGS4 would have wone that award if they had the game demo at E3.....

The Wii won best of show and best hardware last year, Wii Sports won best sports game, Excite Truck best racing game. If anything Wii Fit was a contender for best of show and/or best hardware and/or best casual, and Galaxy for best console game. They didn't win, but may very well have been close. I really don't see the problem.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.
