Forums - General Discussion - The Official Quantum Of Solace sucks thread

The only good part of the movie was the intro song.

The villain was a wimp.

Whats Quantum?

I think their will be a sequel ¯ not a bad point but obviously a bridge movie between Casino and Bond 23

Discuss and agree.

WORST BOND MOVIE EVER!!!

Around the Network

I am seriously considering turning it off and playing gears 2 instead.

Hey Hey Hey guys!!!! It was not a bad movie per say :P I will agree with the statement however... Worst BOND movie ever. But it was better than some of the recent ones, it just didn't feel like a 007 flick xD It was a halfway decent action movie... just a bad bond movie...

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

I don't think am going to watch it.

Quantum is the evil organization like SPETCRE was. Calling this the worst Bond movie ever is like saying that Die Another Day is the best Bond movie ever. I thought that it was pretty good. If you didn't see the last one it might not have made sense to you.

The hate is really exaggerated. A lot of people I know who have seen it, even those who aren't Bond fans and have seen very few of the movies, enjoyed it. The action was great, the return characters hearkened back to Casino Royale, and the villain was classy and creepy (a great combination). Seriously, he was a wimp? Goldfinger was a wimp by many standards but many people consider him to be one of the best Bond villains. If you saw the climax, you would know that Greene is anything but a wimp. How many people can take on a secret agent with years of training in fighting and hold their own?

By the way, if you really think this is the worst Bond movie ever, you obviously haven't seen more than a couple of the films. Die Another Day was vastly worse and that came out only a couple years ago. If you want to go farther back, I could name quite a few of the movies that were worse than Quantum. The intro song was great though, I'll agree with you on that.

As a Bond fan, I can tell you that this is, as shocking as it may sound, one of the better movies in the series. The movie was based off of absolutely nothing (it got the title from a short story in the novel "For Your Eyes Only," but the plot was made up) and the person who directed it didn't even think of doing it until asked. The director (Marc Foster) isn't even a fan of the series!

Well, I'm done. Let the box office figures speak for themselves.

The way that Bond deals with Greene was great. I don't know what anyone is complaining about. Oh, and Greene was not a wimp at all. I think that the movie would have been even better if he was in it more. Greene was one of the best villians in a while. Lame thread.

My way of putting it is:

For a movie, it was good. For a Bond movie, it sucked!!

- As you said, the villain was a wimp compared to previous ones like Oddjob and Jaws

- NO GADGETS!!!!

- No sarcasm/humour like in the bond movies B.C. (before Craig)

- Other than the short car chase at the start, not much driving.

- Craig is a terrible bond. He's such an angry guy, and he doesn't have the same classiness as Sean Connery or even Pierce Brosnan.

It's not a bad movie. Not great either of course, and worse than Casino Royale for sure, but it has its moments. I didn't feel ripped off after I came out of the cinema. Could it have been better? For sure. But for me it was enjoyable

I guess that if it were longer and had less action, like Casino Royale, people would have liked it more.
