I meant multi-versions of the same game, not multiplats, but that does add a new spin to the question =)

How in the world can you consider multiplatform games and not one game with two versions?

GTA:SA sold on the PS2 what it did. We aren't counting XBox or PC sales.

However, Nintendogs has 5 versions of the same game counted as 1. So you have

Nintendogs Labrador Retriever&Friends
Nintendogs Chihuahua & Friends
Nintendo DS Nintendogs Dachshund & Friends
Nintendogs Dalmatian & Friends
Nintendogs Best Friends Edition Game

All being counted as one game. Theoretically, you may buy 1, 2, or all 5 versions so you can play with each dog type, but most sane people wouldn't buy GTA:SA more than once.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Nordlead

Each version of the game has all of the breeds in it

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever

fine (i don't know as I don't own the game), then take pokemon red/green/blue/whatever. I know for a fact, you can't collect all the pokemon unless you trade with people who had the other game. So it is concievable that people would buy both.

Wow, I never knew this would be such a debate.

I don't wn it either; my girlfriend does.

Not arguing the point for Pokemon. "Gotta catch 'em all" pushed quite a few copies - it's why I got Blue and my brother got Red, back in the day.

No I think you didn't understand what he meant.

He consideres San Anreas, but only the PS2 version.

That's why Pokemon Red & Blue & Green does not count. Only one version is allowed.

So do you mean the M version or the AO version?

This is what I was going for, sorry for the confusion.

Nintendogs is an interesting argument.

While all the games are the same, they technically have different starting off points by which dogs are available.

I believe that since this game is geared toward a younger audience, most kids would "ask" for a particular version based on the breed they want, not knowing that all the games are technically the same. The argument being made is, if they only released one version of the game with no alternate starting points, would it still of sold as many copies? Who's to say? And also, how many parents did purchase two copies of the exact same game, not knowing that they were the same?

Side note --- I looked up my Game Boy / Super Mario land Bundle, and could find nothing, so maybe it was unofficial.

I didnt realize there were two versions of this either!

But is this more of a moot point because the AO game was based solely on a hidden element of the game?

Both.

It has the same name on the boxart = it's the same game.
