why do ppl keep talking about netflix, do ya know in dvdxpress you can rent as many movies as you want for $1 a day (per movie), or $13 a month. and they constatiltly adding movies

Just because I was curious, this is what you get for $12.99 per month with DVDXpress

  • A single movie at a time
  • they are not mailed to you
  • You have to pick the movies up in person
  • You're treated fairly compared to Netflix (whatever that means)
  • Nowhere near the selection as Netflix

And I'm pretty sure this is the thing I've seen at Wal-Mart and I had thought they were fairly limited in their selection.  It's a large box the size of a soda machine so it obviously does not have the selection Netflix has.

This is what you get with Netflix for $8.99 a month

  • pretty much every DVD and BluRay you can imagine
  • shipped to your door (takes about 2 days)
  • Rent as much as you want per month (but only one at a time for the $8.99 plan)
  • Unlimited Watch Instantly on your computer
  • Unlimited Watch HD instantly on your 360
  • For $13.99 a month, everything above plus one more movie at home at a time
  • More plans to allow for more movies at a time.

Why is DVDXpress better again?

^^^^^^

Read my previous post. Read the last sentence in red of the article. Sony Pictures films are available on 360. It's only a selected few of Columbia pictures that arent available yet.

imagine Microsoft not offering Windows to SONY VAIO , what is going to happen????

It's less "MS offers" than "Sony buys".

Anyway, Linux.

It's basically the same thing...

Nobody would buy Vaio's if they ran linux.  Well except Linux fanboys.

Really if sony is witholding it because of that... it'd be really petty... and if MS really wanted to play Sony's game... be much more damaging for sony.

Microsoft isn't so trivial though, i don't think sony is either though... so hopefully it's some stupid snafu.

Sigh nobody is reading the damn artcile. Laughs and leaves thread for good.

Like i said, likely a snafu.  If anything it's probably related to the goofy contracts.

The reason it's not a petty play by sony is because MS could deal twice the hurt if they wanted.
