Own Pokémon Diamond/Pearl? Over ten million copies of the game have been sold since the title hit last September, making it the series' biggest smash. When the game went on sale in Japan, it caused frenzy. The U.S. launch saw sales in the millions! Now, European versions in German, French, Spanish and Italian are driving those numbers up, up, up. Ten million plus sold? Talk about monster hit.

I am certain they are going to pass Ruby/Saphire numbers.

My brother got this game on the day of release, I am glad they went with the way they did, because I like the fact that almost all Pokemon are obtainable, compared to Sapphire/Ruby where you could only get a few of the old ones.

Not sure how big the game is in Europe, but I think that the game will top at around 14-17 million possibly outselling the uber hit Nintendogs to become the best selling DS games.

Diamond and Pearl aren't going to hit the original Red/Blue numbers (31.4 million) or the Gold/Silver numbers (23.1 million), but that's hardly an insult as those games are the #2 and #5 sellers all time. I can see anything under those numbers as theoretically possible, even hitting the 20 million mark. Diamond/Pearl will end up as one of the top 15 selling games of all time before they finish - despite the fact that these games got VERY little coverage from the mainstream gaming media prior to release. I think there's a lesson to be learned there.

On a somewhat related note, Wii Sports is now up to the #30 spot on the all-time chart, having just passed Halo 2, Gran Turismo 4, and Goldeneye 007. It may reach the top 10 as well by the end of 2007, and who know where it will end up from there...

Nintendogs, NSMB and Pokemon D/P could possibly end up as the three biggest non-pack-in games of the entire generation.

Imagine what the all-time best-sellers list is going to look like 1 year from now, when Brain Age 2, GTAIV 360, Halo 3, Galaxy, Brawl, Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii and others are all climbing into the top 50 or higher.

Eirk you should add Animal Crossing DS, and hell, maybe AC Wii to that list. That game is 8 million WW, and I think it can get one extra million easily.
And NSMB has blew past 10 million, right now is at 10 mil 200k. 12 million easily LTD.

Why are they counted together ? they are sold individually aren't they ?
