Diamond and Pearl aren't going to hit the original Red/Blue numbers (31.4 million) or the Gold/Silver numbers (23.1 million), but that's hardly an insult as those games are the #2 and #5 sellers all time. I can see anything under those numbers as theoretically possible, even hitting the 20 million mark. Diamond/Pearl will end up as one of the top 15 selling games of all time before they finish - despite the fact that these games got VERY little coverage from the mainstream gaming media prior to release. I think there's a lesson to be learned there.
On a somewhat related note, Wii Sports is now up to the #30 spot on the all-time chart, having just passed Halo 2, Gran Turismo 4, and Goldeneye 007. It may reach the top 10 as well by the end of 2007, and who know where it will end up from there...
