Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Does Nintendo really have any good games?

Is Super Paper Mario really any good? I didn't really like SMRPG or Paper Mario a lot. They felt very repetitive, has that been changed here?

PS: Sorry for going semi off-topic.

It's basically an old school 2-D platformer with a few RPG twists added in at this point.

Since you didn't like the other super mario RPG games i think you'll enjoy it.

Most of the hate comes from people who are pissed it's not the game they wanted, and not for the game it is.

I don't really like the old school 2-D platformers though... Still, I might pick it up if I can get it cheap.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

@megaman, If you want more Zelda/Mario games, you're gonna have to wait until next year. There will be many more mario titles next year and a new zelda title is in development for 2009.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

Zack and Wiki, Boom Blox, de Blob, Shaun White's Snowboarding, Okami, RE4, Lego Starwars, Warioware, Mario Strikers, No More Heroes are all some really good games you should check out.

My Games of 2011:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Super Mario 3D Land

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

IMO this gen is the worst for Nintendo 1st party, mainly due to the small graphical leap and my "meh" feeling about motion controls. These are games on Wii made by Nintendo that I think are worth buying-

1. Zelda Twilight Princess
2. Super Paper Mario
3. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves
4. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
5. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
6. Super Mario Galaxy
7. Super Smash Bros Brawl
8. Wario Land: Shake it!
9. Animal Crossing: City Folk (typed the wrong name inittially. Its right now)

Mario Kart Wii is out as well. I recomend waitng for it to go for $25-$30 used, as that is all that it is worth. Its ok, but the 2nd worst in the series (Mario Kart Super Circuit is stillb y far the worst though- I would give that game 6/10)

There are also good 3rd party games, like Okami, Metal Slug Anthology, NiGHTS Journey of dreams is worth the $15 it costs, Little King's Story, and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World.

Wii has fewer good games than PS360, but its library is totally excluvie basically, and since the console is only $250 and is GREAT with friends, its well worth buying.

Isn't Wild World a DS game?

EDIT: You meant City Folks, right?

The Wii doesn't have too much to offer compared to the PS3 and 360.

If you want a big selection of quality titles, you're buying the wrong system. I don't understand why you're buying it period if there aren't many games for it that interest you.

I think you should get a 360 instead.

Wrong. How about "You should get a 360 as well", then you'll have an even bigger range of great games.

This is what I have done. It seems to be a good strategy. I was going to get a PS3, but I am thinking it is sorta the next Sega Saturn. Blu Ray, Brandname, and being able to piggyback off 360 multiplats will save it from that fate, but I don't see it being a big sucess and I am thus going to wait 3 or so yeas to buy it. Meanwhile, I am buying Sega Satrun, PSP, DS, Wii, and 360 games.

No, get a 360 instead. Getting a Wii as well will only give you slightly -- very slightly -- bigger range of great games. If he wants something to go along with the 360, I would suggest a Nintendo DS. But the Wii really doesn't have much to offer.

If you'd want the best combination, you'd do as i; get Wii and Nintendo DS.

There's really a problem woth the 360 library, outside a couple of genres, there's hard to find anything to play, while Wii (and DS) cater for much wider genres. Which leads into a situation where 360 doesn't have much about anything to play (outside DVD:s).

360 only has a small range of games that have that "Nintendo flavor" Outside of, say, Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, Banjo 1+2 rehashes (well worth buying though- now in HD!), Viva Pinata, Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise, and the first Geometry Wars, there arn'y really any 360 games like what the Wii has to offer. imo the 2nd GW has a dif flavor and isn't even really the same. If you have friends, imo its worth paying $430 for a Wii, 4 new official GCN controllers, and a used $30 copy of brawl. Also if you didn't have a GC, its BC, and there are about 15-35 games worth picking up from GC, depending on your gaming tastes.

I admit that I have a ton of underplayed games.....but, dude!? How many games do you really need at one time? Buy the Wii and a couple of games from your list. If you're really into Nintendo franchises, than Mario Galaxy and Zelda alone are worth the price of admission!
