Forums - Microsoft - Gears 2 just lost almost all the hype it had going for me...

The discussions between the characters are awesome also the one-liners =p. 'Look mama NO FACE'.

My favorite one liner was when I picked up some ammo and Marcus just said bullets, bullets, bullets.  I don't know why that one was so cool and memorable, but just the way he said really made it stick out.  Bender rocks.

I agree with some of your points twesterm... but I am still in love with this game.

I dont have the same gripes as you. In fact Act 2 was awesome. Act 3 was even better and by the time it finishes the game it's at a peak that you just dont want to come down from. Best Campaign Ive played.

Everything was more badass, the weapons, enemies, levels, art, multiplayer, just everything really.

"Badass" and "Art" don't belong in the same sentence.

They do in Gears!

I expected a thread from you about the ending of this game. Anyway I loved the worm part. And Carmine :(...I liked him.

Poor Carmine... ;_;

I was so upset when he first fell into the worms mouth and then was so relieved when I got the chance to rescue him.  And then of course sad again when I actually found him.

I wear my helmet so I don't have to worry about gas!

Does he remind anyone else of Caboose from Red vs Blue?

Oh, man, I was SO sad when Carmine died even though I knew it was inevitable.  Now, unlike his brother, HE died a hero's death.    He was so enthusiastic... "Sarge...*cough* I can't believe we made it!"

I didn't really feel much about the part with Maria, though--save for the part leading up to what Dom did.

I don't really remember how his brother died in the first one, I know Raam kill one guy at some point, not too sure hehe.

Gears 2 was sooo incredible, the campaign was awsome, just the ending was a little lacking and too easy and I want to know WHAT I DID WRONG GODAMIT.

My favorite games for this gen:

1. Gears of War    2. MGS4    3. Killzone 2   4. Halo 3(Underated by many)      5. Mass Effect

To me, the worm part was really good because it was different, eye-catching and funny (cole and baird kept it entertaining).

LOL they were standing in the middle of a hot zone with snipers around, he got up and, holding out his gun, proclaimed, "SOMETHING'S WRONG WITH THIS THING!  IT KEEPS JAMMING!  SEE?"

At which point he got headshotted by a sniper XD

Nowhere near as epic as Ben's.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

@twestern i'm not too sure what difficulty of horde I was on, but it was quite difficult around level 9. One time I afked to mf a little on D2 only to watch my screen and be surprised that I was being chainsawed...

I'm sorry, but the worm was awesome. I think it's really important in a game to change the pace here and there. One thing that kind of burned me out on the first Gears was that they didn't change things up enough. I've started it on both PC and 360 and haven't finished it on either platform. (I plan on finally finishing it after I'm done with Gears 2)

For me, the changes in pace are a key ingredient in keeping me interested in the game. If it's just shooting shooting shooting, I get bored and I feel like I'm just grinding my way to the end. I need at least a cut scene here and there.

All that being said, I love how in both Gears games, you are CONSTANTLY on edge. You never know if there's a wretch or an ammo box around the next corner. The only criticism I have about the game (and this happens in just about every shooter these days) is that I'm sick of being promised chopper pickups. They almost never happen (the chopper crashes, the area is too hot to land in, etc.) and they are starting to seem like a cheap way to move you into the next stage of the game. It's like that bad dream where you're running in place and not getting anywhere. It's like that episode of Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends when they keep trying to leave for the airport but Mr. Hariman keeps changing the itinerary so they can't leave.
