Pretty good review. I've been looking forward to this for a while. Hope I have money for it!

Bought this Saturday for my Son.

he is 7, he plays world of warcraft, computer games, loves pokemon, bakugan, plated the force unleashed(beat it) etc.

he has 10+hrs playing so far -- loves the game.

supposedly 1.5 MILLION combinations of parts for monster building

oh and he is only up to the 2nd town.. he loves building monsters.

edit... OH yes, The Best Buy i went to didn't even have it on the SHELF yet...it had been out for 3 days and not one copy was out on the shelf to be Sold.

Wow... you are one bad parrent if you ask me... he is 7 for gods sake... WoW at that age is far from being a good idea, and seeing how many games he beats I doubt he stays out much :?

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

he goes out every time he can.

also does baseball, flag football, learn to skate hockey,
goes to school (2nd grade), is a first degree youth black belt in kung fu...

he does lots of things besides computers and video games.

My son (17) has had his eye on this game for quite a while. He'll probably be picking it up since it sounds like a solid title and he loves Pokemon something this game apparently compares too. Damn shame it doesn't offer online random matches, that would be the only thing keeping this from a 'must have' title for him.

@hunter_alien

Leonardo could have done worst than let his 7 year old son play WoW.  For example, letting him play GTAIV.

I was interested already..but if a freaking unknown Wii game gets an 8 from IGN...well..

I guess I HAVE to play it now...

but seriously..hmmm was interested already..this or spore..but, since spore isn't coming in a while (for wii) I'll be getting this..maybe

For a fun time, count how many times the reviewer uses the phrase, "kids' game."

Decent score aside, it's like they're not even trying anymore.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
