short:

price cut paid off for MS in europe

Cheapest console in the market

doubled their sales, caught up with PS3 in Germany again, and leaving PS3 behind in the US

14 million live users, which is important since it (along with software) makes MS profitable

No Blu-ray player is planned.

I knew it was doing well in Europe. Nice one.

The question is how long the price cut sales boost will last.

14 million live users, I find that one every hard to believe. How far ahead is 360 in sales compared to PS3 in EU? Official numbers would be nice, not VG estimations.

VGCharts has an increase of about that.... from an average of about 45k per week up to 95k per week (increasing now though due to Christmas)

Although we don't show the re-catch up in Germany

If doubled then 40k to 100k seems like it is overtracked. Especially since total others includes Asian countries where the 360 does well AND aus.

It's called spin, I can't confirm it as I can't read the article myself, but there are not even 14 million Wii in Europe yet, so there are not 14 million X360s. Thus I believe he swapped into worldwide mode for that statement.

@MaxKing.... Check the chart I linked to.... you can't just use the lowest and highest week to figure it out, you need to make an average (I did it roughly in my head) which shows an increase from about 45k (where you got 40k when you were still referencing all of "others" I don't know)  up to about 90-95k.

Sales for the 360 in the UK are nothing short of astonishing.

360 has really picked up the pace there lately.

Its really gaining ground in other parts of europe too.
