Ok, i have had the game since the 28 and since that day i have played around 3 online. Why? Server errors and connection errors.

 Before you buy the game you may need to contact a Cisco representative, Why? because the game does not allows to play online if your router does no support micro fragmentation, is not that it wont let you chat like in other cases, is that it wont let you join other player at all, you can verify that by testing the connection on you ps3  if it says you have nat type 3, in that case don’t buy LBP yet if you are mayor interest is the online experience.

 The servers are taken down every day for 8 hours. When they are up, you can download user created level but almost always that’s it, when you try to play with other players most of the time you will get : failed to load all player profile, failed to create list of sessions, failed to join player, failed to host game, and the dreaded failed to connect to the PSN. That last one sometime locks the ps3 and you have to restart the console(if you try to exit the game it will restart the ps3 anyway).

In the case you don’t get a server error, lag IS HUGE. For example, there are some user created levels that send you running very fast in some strange vehicle, don’t try these levels online the game will never update your position on time, in other game this wouldn’t be an issue but in LBP you die if you are out of the screen and guess what?? Even if you are seen the character in the middle of the screen you will die, because you position is not update fast enough. 

So after having all of these problems, i decide to play offline, but the game is not 1/10 as fun as playing with others online, so the purpose of this thread is , first to warn those thinking of buying this game, that the online is not really available for now and second, to find out how many others in this site have had this same problems, so please add your experience with LBP online. By the way the offline( not saying single player because 4 players can also play offline) is really flawless and extremely fun, but how often you can have 3 of you friends at home after 11:00 pm to play for hours?

Yup. It always does. Otherwise, there's no point to the game.

its not that bad but it is an issue but there has been a massive increase on online use as of late so Sony has a ton of server upgrades to do

Im starting to pull away from LBP..as a purchase

maine is nat 2 but still i have some lags with some few players.

I tried to play with Okey the other day, and my god, i couldn't even move half the time.

I'M all about R2 right now.

samem but I have more issues connecting to R2's servers than playing LBP online.

Just play multiplayer the way it was meant to be played - a few mates over with a beer in hand :P

Anyway, it's disappointing to hear and I hope it gets fixed

 but gamespot said the online is lag free.

oh no, I have no lag in game. Its actually connecting to a game thats a pain in the rear.
