Are you going to voice an opinion on the sequal, which I assume you have actually played, or just troll this thread.  Many sites, icluding IGN gave it a higher rating than the original, others, a lower rating, that is there opinion.  This thread is an opinion thread I believe....based solely on IF individual players/gamers prefer the second over the first.  IMO, Gears 2 is WAY better than the first.     

I'll throw you this, based solely on your reflected preference in MGS, assumed by your Snake avatar, (again, an assumption, not fact).  So.........that being said......because MGS4 has a lower average or "universally" lower score than MGS, or MGS2, or MGS3 subsistence....does that make it an "inferior" game as you so eloquently posted........hmmm........interesting.  I guarantee many, would disagree with that, considering I think that MGS4 is one of the greatest games this Gen, in comparison to the originals....but hey, we will go with statement!

C. You're incorrect, according to most critics...and every gamer....it is generally accepted as the SUPERIOR game.

D. I hope you just misspoke. If not, your motivations are clear, with your MGS avatar, and penchant for everything Sony.

E. By your logic, Gears is generally accepted as the better game by a much wider margin, compared to Resistance 2.

I agree. The game is so much smoother feeling this time. The story is still not very good but a huge improvement over the first. The ending is even worst then the first if that can be possible. It does have some really neat boss fights, exspecially with skorge but sadly the final battle was such utter fail that it almost made me forget about those guys. Overall, a huge improvement in mechanics but the campaign wore out it's welcome just a little bit. I wouldn't have been sad if it had been a little shorter. I love tai, that guy is my new avatar online! :)
Speaking of online play, there are some problems but when you get in a room and everything works well, it's really fun. Horde mode > then everything else in the game imho. At least right now, I can see it being repetitive but as of right now my girlfriend and I have been tearing it up.

I think everything in the game is better, campaign, co-op, multi-player, gameplay, graphics, etc. I love how they went with Halo's matchmaking system. The time to join in games will shrink as the system works out the kinks. Happened with Halo 2/3. Horse mode is absolutely great.

I have a few online friends that didn't like the first game.. but they really like Gears 2. Me included
