Xbox 360 sold 143k in NA the week Halo 3 launched.
Wii sold 275k last week.

Unless Nintendo ships half the Wiis they did last week, this will not happen.

Gears 2 will not be a strong HW pusher.

Neither will Resistance 2.

no. it will probably sell less than half of the wii. i doubt it'll do more than add an extra 10k to hw sales next week.

Halo 2 was different for a number of reasons.

1.  It added a comprehensive multiplayer the first title simply didn't have.

2.  FAR less competition. Microsoft's first and second party alone has pumped out and awesome shooter or two every year since launch.  And thats before we even start with the third parties.

Nope, don't even dream about it when you know it is holiday season. People already getting ready for Christmas, for the first time in months I have seen the Wii sold out in Game.

There will be a boost, but obviously not that much. You can't expect a Halo 3 calibre boost with Gears, since the public does not know it as well as the Halo series.
