I love the way PS3 fanboys have sort of come back to reality a little bit in the last few weeks. Before that it was "You wait for LBP and Resistance 2 to come and PS3 will sell loads, it will beat Fable II and Gears 2!" Etc..

Now roll on a few weeks and they haven't done nowhere near what expected, in fact it looks like they havent even done 1m copies combined! And they all run damage control saying selling 500k from 7m consoles is great! You have to admit it is quite funny especially to neutrals!

If apparently Gears 2 had an opening day of 1.4 million in america, so an opening week of 1.6mln?

So first week would be around 400k? Since it didn't launch in EU yet.

A 300-400k first week in the US, combined with a similar launch in Others would make it the 3rd best opening week for a PS3 game ever.

Anyone who was expecting 1.5M first week had unrealistic expectations.
Anyone who calls 600-800k first week bad, had no idea about how PS3 games sell.

How many people actually expected R2 to sell anywhere near Gears2. One, two?

lets hope it sold on the higher end of the 300-500k range according to ioi.

Well first of all i don't think PS3 fans expected it to sell close to Gears numbers but 1/4 it? The difference here is way bigger then first Gears and R1.
