Persona is Atlus, nothing to do with this announcement I'm afraid.  Nippon Ichi is all about the SRPG's such as Disgaea.

...

^ my bad, i got confused with those 2

Now all the Wii needs is the next Persona game and I'd be the happiest Wii owner in the world :)

if you mean persona 4 ---> ps2

@Jo21
Seriously you just do that to try and rub that shit on peoples faces. Im pretty sure if he like persona he would know 4 went to PS2.

OT: This is awesome. Id be glad with a Disgaea spin-off. More SRPG for Wii is awesome.

Jo21 you really seem to like going after people don't you? Notice how I said next as in the next one announced and not the finished title that is Persona 4. I was honestly surprised P4 didn't find its way to Wii alongside the PS2 version, but I'm sure if Atlus wants to keep development costs low then Wii is their next stop unless they go to the PSP. But back to topic, NIS art style will really lend itself to the Wii because they are all about artsy 2D games which look beautiful on Wii. *Points to Demon Blade and Warioland Shake It*

"The company posted a notice to its website yesterday announcing that it finalized a contract with Nintendo on November 4 covering the development and sale of Wii and WiiWare games in the Japanese market. "

So any game they make for the Wii is probably a year or two off. Unless, that is, they intend to make WiiWare stuff in the meantime. I don't see why else they'd bring it up. But WiiWare games are only 43 megs.

Are they planning to abandon their SRPG bread and butter for a bit? Or are they going to make an SRPG emulating SNES/Genesis SRPGs? I'm curious to see what they have in store...

I have to copmletly disagree. They wont work on WiiWare in the meantime. Im sure they'll work simultaneously on a true wii game in the genre their best at and a WiiWare game.
