You want a second 360, just so you can with more friends locally?
Wow.

You do realize that you need a second TV and a second copy of each game, right?

I have a 23" monitor and im getting a 65" to replace my 53" next year.

And yes I do know about having extra monitors and game disks etc. Halo 3 is getting old, we need something new.

Okay, just making sure you know what you are getting into :P Also, when you say system link, do you mean that you want to hook them up over LAN instead of over the internet? Because if you just hook them up over the internet, I don't see why you should have any limits on it, except if you have a set amount of IP's or whatever limitations you might have.

Just local, its much better playing in the same room!

I know you want to have it in the same room, I'm just asking if by "System link" you mean connecting them over LAN.

But anyway, I figured out that my suggestion had nothing to do with what you are trying to do, so whatever

Squilliam- you could do this with any Ethernet cord and a Xbox 360-Xbox link w/ an original game to save $$$.

i think he wants to know how many new games are coming out that suport system link... if i'm wrong, i apologize.

sorry, can't help. i didn't even know that system link was an option.

though it is more fun to play in the same room... there'd be serious fights over who'd play on the 50" plasma, 22" CRT, or 19" LCD... and i'm pretty weak so i think i'll just stick with online.

I was wanting to know how many 360s can possibly be connected at the same time and what the possibilities are.

COD IV? # of players local =4?, System link maximum =?

Sys link 2-24; 1-4 local; 2-18 online.

Halo 3 # of players local = 4, System link maximum = 8?

Local 1-4 with co-op; system link 2-16; online-2-16.

Gears of War 2 # of players local = 2?, System link maximum = 4?

Sys link supported but don't know how many.

Im thinking about getting another 360, but to make it worthwhile there have to be enough games which support this feature.

Well unfortunately gears 2 doesn't play on an Xbox 1 but fortunately an Xbox 360 2nd hand is dirt cheap, with system link you can play 4 player Gears 2 right?

Tease.

I have 2 PS3s and I would buy 2 copies of a game if it included LAN play for 4 players on each consoles, COD4 just supports one player per console over LAN! Anyone knows a game that does the LAN play with 4 players per console?

Well they're many games that support system link.
Gears is 4 players (2 on each console) in multiplayer AFAIK, but co-op mode is still 2 players :(

Yeah I think that is right. Pretty sure.

2x Xbox 360s = $600

6 wireless controllers = $270

Two copies of Halo 3 = $60

The ability to play 8 player local multiplayer Halo 3 = Priceless.

There are some things in life money can't buy. But for the rest, theres Mastercard.

i just bought gears 2 and this is what is on the back.

players: 1-2
system link: 2-10
online multiplyer: 2-10
co-op: 2-5

so, i still don't know what that means...
