the real question is why the PS3 will never beat the PS2 in japan and the Wii has already beaten the GameCube there ? and yes I don't care about question to express some subjectivity and oh yes THE WII IS DOING GREAT ok.

That's a little nuts. I won't bother commenting on your PS3 prediction, but 14M Wii is far too low. Even the PSP will probably do 14M, and the Wii is performing much better. It has seen so few releases recently, which is why it's in a slump; the onslaught of titles is soon to come. Animal Crossing is huge in Japan, and there are many higher profile third party releases on the way.
OT: Passing the PS2 lifetime is going to be tough. I think it will require the Wii "killing off" the PS2 next year. Right now, the PS2 is still taking all of the small third party hits - seeing PS2 games topping the charts in Japan isn't too uncommon. The Wii needs to take that away from the PS2 as soon as possible to overtake it in hardware. I'm not so sure it'll happen in time.
Hmm, most likely not
Although i do feel odd predicting this just days before Animal Crossing: Wii is released in japan, that game will sell incredibly well over there

Most likely will. That said, it will be better to predict in 4 months or 16 months from now... It is taking the Wii longer to get third party support compared to the PS2.

No need to spam..
I have my doubts. If 2 Dragon Quests and Kingdom Hearts were released on Wii it might. Animal Crossing might be huge but I doubt it will be a system seller as most Gamecube owners of the game probably have Wii's by now.
Pixel Art can be fun.
No, and the Wii is in very big troubles in Japan right now. If things don't change by years end, I predict the Wii may drop into the 5k weekly for the rest of this gen. But don't expect any other home console to do better, since console gaming in Japan is dead already, mostly thanks to the big companies that destroyed it. (Capcom, SE, Konami, etc)

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
You keep saying that trestes... Why do you keep saying that? I don't disagree the Wii is in a slump right now. But if the Wii's Slump is the same level as the other consoles best weeks... Isn't that pretty damned amazing? And besides. Animal Crossing is on the way.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.
Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.
Wii currently is at 6.9 million
PS2 is at 22.7 million
It dought the Wii will have the momentum of the PS2 in Japan, so I'll say it won't beat the PS2
it looks even more hopeless when you look at this graph lol

Not in trouble now. This is normal time of year for slump sales. Remember the PS2 didn't launch the same month as the Wii...
Now, if weekly sales don't double in about 6 weeks, then I would agree it's not looking good for the Wii, but it is still looking better for the Wii then all the other consoles...
