Forums - Sales - VGchartz isnt including 360 bundles in weekly sales?

@Ghost:
So you don't know. PES 2009 (360) acutally dropped less from 1st week than its PS3 counterpart. PES is a front-loaded title so big drops were expected. Also PES is more popular on PS3 and in Southern Europe were X360 presence is weaker.

Vgchartz data with GT5P bundles in Japan wasn't released yet. You're mistaking vgchartz data with Enterbrain chart that vgchartz has nothing to do with. Still GT5P bundles surely will be included.

ok your right. But even so, Wii sports is included every week, the GT5: Prologue bundle for Japan was included.

Yet PES 2009 Europe, and the Kung Fu/Lego Europe/NA bundles are still not up. Even the Arcades Sega Tennis bundles should show up.....but nothing.

Im glad that you saw my thread because you seem to be one of the top guys here based on what ive seen b4 I registered. I hope these "omissions" can be corrected soon.

I think it just has to do with the ease and reliability of tracking.

In Wii Sports' case, we know it has a 100% attach ratio with game systems in North America and Europe, so it's very easy to count. Although I, and many others argue the validity of including said numbers in official data aggreggates, it's still easy (and nice) to have WS numbers available.

In GT5P's case, it's also rather easy since the tracking is done by other service - Enterbrain/Famitsu/MC have the data readily available.

With the X360, it's a diffferent story since SKU's have different bundles. Sega Superstar Tennis comes with the Arcade, whereas Lego IJ and KFP are with the Pro/Elite. Unless VGC has bundle sales data, there's no way to get a viable ratio of sales, so the right bundles can be tracked with reliability - At least last year, when we had the Forza 2/Marvel Ultimate Alliance bundles, it was cross-SKU and everything got it.

So what does that mean? So Vgchartz wont include any bundle whatsoever because they cant figure out the proper percentage of skus sold?

At the very least they should include the kung fu/lego bundles because they span the pro and elite, just like Forza 2 and Marvel did last year.

2008 360 prediction: 26 million (thus surpassing XBOX lifetime sales in one year less time).

As long as there are 360 bashers, I will be there to do something about it.

In UK I'm not even sure there are any bundles.  There are just retailer bundles.

Hmm, well I checked you link, there doesn't seem to be a date given for the US bundles, but I can't imagine they were released later than this.... As of now the latest American data in goes up to the 25th October. Were the adverts on TV about the bundle before or after the 25th?

As you said, we shall see this week whether they rise or not.... but rest assure it is not a bias against X360 as the Marvel and Forza bundle was included last year.

@Ghost: How do you know that PES bundles aren't included in vgchartz numbers?

because the gap between the 360 and PS3 version was too wide. And since its popular, the 360 weekly numbers should have risen a little, not go down.

That aside, even if your right, there was a Lego Indiana/Kung Fu bundle for both Europe and NA released last week that should be in the charts, but they arent. Even the Arcade Europe/NA Sega Tennis bundle is omitted.

Bundled software sales are still sales. Wii Sports counts, GT5: Prologue in Japan counts, yet these 360 bundled games dont for some reason.

The difference is, those X360 bundles are OPTIONAL... you are not forced to get them based on which model you want.

Wii Sports is given with every Wii in America and Europe (though not some "others" countries)

GT5P in Japan is given with all PS3s except the few that Little Big PLanet comes with, but that is more expensive and sells less.

Europeans are given the choice to buy an X360, or and X360 with Lego/KungFu.... but they choose it without those games (which I certainly would, Kung Fu Panda is not exactly high quality material)

Similarly they are not forced to buy the PES bundle, most PES sales will come from game copies only for people who had the console already, then a few might have wanted the game at the same time that they went to buy a X360 so they get the bundle.

Why would you not want to buy a console with free games?

I saw someone buy a Lego/Kung Fu bundle on October 21st (North America). I went to toys r us that day.

So im keeping an eye on this weeks NA charts. If there is no Kung Fu, Lego Indiana, and Sega Tennis in the top 50, something is seriosuly wrong.

Are those retail based bundles or corporate bundles? That make s a profound difference in racking the sales.

The NA Arcade Sega Tennis bundle, and the Pro/Elite Lego indiana/Kung Fu Panda are official bundles. Kust like Forza and Marvel were last year.

Perhaps difficult data collection??

4 ≈ One

ok im done here. ill wait for the NA numbers. Ill definately make a new thread if those 3 games arent in the data.
