I think it just has to do with the ease and reliability of tracking. In Wii Sports' case, we know it has a 100% attach ratio with game systems in North America and Europe, so it's very easy to count. Although I, and many others argue the validity of including said numbers in official data aggreggates, it's still easy (and nice) to have WS numbers available. In GT5P's case, it's also rather easy since the tracking is done by other service - Enterbrain/Famitsu/MC have the data readily available. With the X360, it's a diffferent story since SKU's have different bundles. Sega Superstar Tennis comes with the Arcade, whereas Lego IJ and KFP are with the Pro/Elite. Unless VGC has bundle sales data, there's no way to get a viable ratio of sales, so the right bundles can be tracked with reliability - At least last year, when we had the Forza 2/Marvel Ultimate Alliance bundles, it was cross-SKU and everything got it. |
So what does that mean? So Vgchartz wont include any bundle whatsoever because they cant figure out the proper percentage of skus sold?
At the very least they should include the kung fu/lego bundles because they span the pro and elite, just like Forza 2 and Marvel did last year.
2008 360 prediction: 26 million (thus surpassing XBOX lifetime sales in one year less time).
As long as there are 360 bashers, I will be there to do something about it.
