Forums - Sony - Advantages of Blu ray

I love how people try to downplay blu ray as if its garbage cause they're fanboys meanwhile blu ray has huge advantages over dvd.

1. Space- 50gb dual layer, nuff said much more than dvd and pioneer is working on a 500gb disc, Having more space only makes games better by putting no limit on what a developer can do.

2. Physical Quality- These discs can take a beating, just search youtube if you don't believe me

3. HD Movies - Anyone here seen transformers on blu ray??? The quality of blu rays on a 1080p tv, I can't justify this you have to see for yourself :)

4. 7.1 surround sound- finally a reason to invest in audio equip

5. $$$- Blu ray players and drives are becoming much more affordable than ever and Hit movies like Iron man show how big movie releases are making blu ray catch on fast. Can't wait until Dark Knight, Which is already on pre order for many websites.

Thanks for reading, if you still don't like blu ray enjoy watching those ancient dvds and gimped games.

Blu Ray movies dont look that much better(Ive watched the "great transfers" on a great tv) and most people dont care about 7.1 sound. So Im not sure if its the future of movies, but all that space is pretty nice and will come in handy as this gaming gen moves on.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Like I ever want to watch Transfomers on Blu-Ray or not.

Blu-Ray are more expansive so we have to pay for it. I rather not pay for it as I consider those advantages inferior to the money required to have them.

I have read your points, now why should I spend more money on this when I already have so many things that play DVDs, I think my toothbursh will soon start to run DVDs?

What's the point of this thread? Anyone that follows technology knows that Blu-Ray is the future of disc based movies. They "won the battle" against HD DVD so why is there a thread bragging about Blu and telling us information we already know?



I'll come up with something better eventually...

Because BluRay is not worth upgrading from DVD given the prices.
