Actually, it's because R2 probably doesn't have a shot from a critical perspective, or from sales. I'm sure the odd site would give shooter of the year to the odd game, but what I assumed was that we were judging the most universally accepted shooter of the year, and though R2 has a chance, it's slim to none, imo.

Essentially thats why I didn't Include R2. Because if I had I would have also had to include - Dead Space, Farcry 2, and Call of Duty 5 and make it a 5 way. Low 90s/high 80s shooters aren't likely contenders for shooter of the year anyway.

I'm not saying reviews matter. I'm just saying that for GotY, they do, because that's what fanboys who vote, and editors who write the reviews look at.

My personal game of the year has nothing to do with sales or reviews, and I only read reviews for their text.

Hard to say, but anyone who loves shooter type games this is definately the year of the 360. (Between consoles) The fact that its so hard to pick makes it really fun and interesting. Its always good to be intimidated by excellent choices rather than one or two no-brainer type decisions.

What are you guys considering good sales?

500k or less for Left for Dead, for the QUALITY it has is crap. That's what I'm predicting. Did I say the game would/does suck? No, this game looks unbelievable. But thanks Zen and Ben for calling me ignorant just because I am making a sales prediction and not an actual game ratings prediction. Everyone that is making these outrageous LBP predictions are also ignorant then.

I predict Left for Dead will receive ATLEAST a 90% average and will join the 360 AAA list.

It's just that simple.

Naznatips and I have a bet that if it sells over 1,000,000 within 6 months I get a game free. Less and he gets a game from me.

He expected 500,000k, im expecting between 1.5-2M using Bioshock as the base model for a good/excellent shooter missing one key aspect (Single/Multiplayer, but 1.5 Million seems about right for a fair guesstimate)
