Forums - Gaming - I`ve seen LBP in action... Sony is ripping you off

Everyone said LBP will be huge and will sell systems... It`s a 3 hour long game that looks like Mario only a little more inventive. How can you pay 400$ to play this game when there is little to no replay value and it`s short?

I just don`t understand.

If you`re interested in the game, here you go -> http://www.gameanyone.com/game/PS3/1392.html

It`s in the gaming category because it`s an insult to gaming (my opinion and only my opinion) and seeing how Banjo 3 ,a great and long game is supposed to not even compete with this rag doll is a true insult to gaming (shal i repeat the "my opinion" thing?).

My friend  my friend my friendddddddddddddddddddddddd,

Dou you really, i mean really.........think there is no reply value? Please....i need an honest opinion.

Which is the replay value for mario bros? playing the same stage again and again? YOu can finish that game in under 6 minutes...or finish mario bros 3 in under 15 min...

They will get 3 hours of gameplay and you know it.

For sure they won't, they will be able to create their own level and play it together with their family.

Devs worked hard to make tools and textures for people to be as creative as possible. And made sure there is no glitches when you put stuff together.

God... you just don't get it, do you?

I insist. The gameplay on the disc is about 3 hours long. I was not talking about the user generated levels, only the disc levels you payed the developers to make(indirectly). My 2 cents, obvios.

I insist too, why do you base the replay value on the devs work only when the main goal of the game is user generated content????

Because that`s robbery in my books. Using generated user levels means less development cost and more profit, because the users are making this content instead of developers. Generating advertisement that "you can finally create your own levels, people" is a scam also, meant to increase the respective console`s userbase and generate more sales in the process.

No one is more capable that the game`s developers, and they were paid to make the game. Simple.

Your freedom in the game is falsly generated, but i`m not using that as my argument. I`m using the people that don`t want/know to go online/download the content. They will get 3 hours of gameplay and you know it.

Well, I don't think those people would buy the game, would they? If they don't want to go online and download content, why the hell are they buying LBP? It's like saying you're going to get COD4 and not play online or BioShock and not use plasmids!

No game will ever please everybody. Somebody will hate it, especially if they do exactly the opposite of what the developer wants them to do.

And how is it incomplete? There's a perfectly complete campaign with complete extras, and an extremely complete level editor. If you don't want to use it, and don't want to use user created levels, the solution is simple. Don't buy LBP.

EDIT: And it has the same IGN score as Halo 3.

And why do you asume i have mario bros? And why are we talking about a different game? Just asking...and welcome to vgchartz, btw.

@Asmo -> they have to create the content to play it with their family...but i just don`t get it that the disc has 3 hours on it,so it`s ok. Right?

Guys you are wasting your time on Stan85. Once he said that LBP had "little to no replay value" he revealed himself as a troll. I mean a game that has a comprehensive level creation tool and has no replay value? Come on Stan85. That isn't an opinion, that is sheer fanboyism.

So if i play the game and don`t use the level creation tool,i`m a fanboy? I mean...a troll? Hmm...

@The Fury -> And i`m sure you will pay £40 for Banjo 3 ,right?

Yes. That's how much it costs. Now if I decide also at the same time to get a 360 then it would cost me £40 for the game and £130 for the console but why would i buy an entire console for 1 game? If I had a 360 I might try other 360 only games that I've heard good things about...so Mass Effect basically. Oh or Star Ocean 4...hoping that will still appear on PS3 though.

Hmm, pie.

Because it's a game based on user generated content, damnit! They focused on the editor and just created a few levels as example of what you can do with the editor.

If you don't have internet and you don't want to create levels, LBP is not for you, that's it.

some opinions are better to be kept to yourself, remember that and you might be somebody someday
