Forums - Nintendo - The Conduit's development, and High Voltage as the developer.

I agree that it's quite unfortunate that one game has to be the determining factor here--I mean, where would Sony be right now if developers watched sales of Heavenly Sword or Warhawk to gauge how they would sell on PS3?

However, I do believe that Nintendo realizes the importance being placed upon this game, and how it could affect their image with the core gamer.  Remember, it was pretty much all they showed at their American Fall Conference.  I think SEGA and Nintendo will be hyping this game up pretty heavily in the month or so before it comes out.

Great minds think alike they say...

I also think that is the reason WHY Nintendo would not have wanted to be the pubisher.

LOL, to throw a lil' conspiacy theory out there...How many people saw SEGA as the publisher for this game? Of all the 3rd Parties that Nintendo works with the Conduit is being published by the one company willing to dip it's toes in the water?

....Ahhhh makes you think right? ...Right?

Reading that Sega guy saying the Wii is the most expensive console because people only play Wii Sports and Wii Fit on Christmas is really sad. They're supporting the Wii, but at the same time they are not convinced to do it. Too bad Sega.

EXACTLY! Thats why I think 2009 is very important for Nintendo, if it expect the Wii to be like the DS. Only thing is the Wii has more competition. If Sega's priorities can sale next year I HOPE other companies can gain confidence that they can compete with Nintendo.

...I mean who'd think that do well on your OWN platform would do more HARM then good? Maybe thats why PS/XB360's first parties aren't as strong sellers?

Game won't sell well. Even if the game recieved rave reviewes scored a 100% on all sites. It still won't do that well. Why.

Simple. The FPS gaming players have for the most part chose their sides. There was not enough FPS out for the Wii that didn't gimp or screw it up to be viable. Having 1 or 2 FPS coming out for the system will not change most of the already established FPS gamers mind.

While there are plenty of Wii gamers out there. Just not enough to make Conduit a series seller or more importantly change Western developer minds on the system.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Going from a Jag developer to the lynchpin of the wii's 3rd party supports
Wow, Hvs has come along way.
Anyway, I'm sure hvs will deliver, if you look at their track record the more freedom the better game thay made i.e. hunter the reckoning is a decent game and the fight for life beta is okay as well and their lame licensed games are passable compared to many others in the same situation
They aren't secret level who were handed both final fight and golden axe to slaughter, they're a company that really hasn't really ever had the chance to do something great

@sc94597 - I think that what you're describing as High Voltage fixing complaints by fans is actually just the natural development cycle of games. Over the course of development, character models improve, lighting and texture effects are added. I really don't think that had anything to do with how people reacted to the screens.

This!  I've been telling people for months that the game will progessively look better, its a natural part of game development, and you get the fanboys that will fight you tooth and nail to tell you otherwise.   Anyway it's been great to see this game come along it almost gives you the feeling of what it's like to see a game being developed step by step, most dvelopers keep their projects behind closed doors till they release them so you won't see it in the rough early stages and feel like that is what the end game will look like, but HVS came out with something that looked far better then 90% of Wii efforts from the start and now has gotten to the 99% range.

Really these guys are doing a great job.

If this is utilising the Wii to it's maximum then I can fully understand why the vast majority of 3rd party developers choose not to , the Wii is as efficient as a lightbulb.

The only reason i haven't clicked the "report this post" button is because i don't want you to go crying about wii bias.. but hopefully you can see how your post has no use but to troll the game and the console it is on

I don't think so. I think the majority of Shooter players have a PC. Only a little amount of shooter players like Gamepadcontrols because they are a large step backwards from mouse control. I love shooter but don't hink about playing these on a gamepad-console like ps3 or xbox360. I am looking forward to good shooters on the Wii.

It's not trolling though , it's true the Wii is isn't efficient but I was referring to it's graphical capabilities. The work put into the Wii vs the graphical result just doesn't justify fully utilising the Wii IMO it doesn't look much better than high end PS2 or XBOX games.

99% of 3rd parties seem to agree with me so I guess you should ban them from Vgchartz too.
