That sucks, even if it's not too surprising. I'll still be getting it myself, mind you, but it would have been nice to have the whole enchilada.

what I want is Japanese songs (well, anime songs), songs that aren't even under RIAA's control. I don't even mind paying for it, but to block them while not giving me an alternative? It's just sad.

Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

There's likely some IP treaty that's stopping Activision. Sucks, of course, but there's not much we can do, short of waiting for someone to find the inevitable workaround.

I haven't heard any user feedback on them but how is the sound quality on the user generated songs?? Both the IGN review and GT review I read said the quality was poor and kinda diminished the benefits of having such a robust creator. TBH the creator was never a big selling point for me but it's a shame the game seems to have other issues as well.

Another forum I go to which is not gaming centric (and more casual oriented) has a lot of people disappointed in the game. I was just curious as to how it was because it seems like the release kinda came and went without much fanfare.

Completed X360:
High Def Movie Collection

For what it's worth, I'm also really disapointed with Guitar Hero World Tour for Wii.  Yes, they did implement a whole lot of features, and it's a great package on paper, but well, it's just not as much *fun* as Guitar Hero 3 or even Rock Band Wii (as gimped as it is).

The song selection is just okay, some great songs, quite a few not so great songs. :( I can't say anything about the drumming portion of the game, simply because they didn't make the game compatible with the Rock Band drums (unacceptable, considering that it works on the 360 and PS3).  Singing is better in Rock Band. I also found the sound quality to be a bit lacking, it's much quieter than my other Wii games.

All in all, it's an okay game, but I'm happy that I only bought the game and not the bundle. Rock Band 2 is shaping up to be a better game on Wii, believe it or not...

I'm pissed at Harmonix about Rockband Wii.

-game was released seven months late
-no online
-no DLC
-no city, venue, setlist World Tour selections
-no fans, stars, or unlockable World Tour merchandise
-no character creation
-did I mention the game was released seven months late?

This is unacceptable. When I read up on Rockband Wii before I bought it, I'd just thought there was no online or DLC. That doesn't bother me. What bothers me is that THE ENTIRE FREAKING GAME SUCKS. And there's no damn reason it should. The Wii is more than capable of EVERYTHING the PS3 and 360 versions are - GH:WT proves that. So why does Harmonix jerk off for seven months and release this mess? Pure laziness and disrespect for Wii owners.

So if they're going to be asses to me, I'm going to be an ass to them. And I will never buy a game of theirs again.

GH:WT for Wii has every single feature of the PS3 and 360 counterparts. Every feature. AND it includes a special Wii-centric mode that (obviously) can't be found on the other consoles. So, yeah. I am going to fully support the Guitar Hero games and Rockband will never get a cent from me again.

Since I already have GH3 for Wii, and the Wii version has extra content (plus I'm not a DLC person anyhow), I'll be buying the Wii version of GH:WT. If it weren't for the fact that I already have GH3Wii, then I'd probably be uncertain which console to get it for - 360 or Wii? Would I want to at least have DLC available, or have the (strange) Mii-mode? Dunno, but since I already have my GH3 guitar for Wii, I'm gonna stick with Wii.

PS: If anybody wants a slightly used Rockband for Wii - all instruments and everything included - I'm selling for cheap. Game's $140 new? I'll sell for $100.

Not true. The Wii version doesn't have the complete music creator.

Dude really didnt do any research, just knew that the Wii version of Rock Band was "gimped" in general terms, and so now will "strike back" at Harmonix by buying the inferior music game, GHWT. Rock Band 2 as far as I have seen is Feature complete across all platforms, while GHWT is not. Its Music Creator is vastly reduced on the Wii version.

So go ahead and get it based on incomplete information. It humors me.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

So you can't connect it to the computer and use it to cheat your way of creating a song.  Boo hoo haha.

Too bad you didn't like it. I think it kicks ass. I still need to buy the drum set, after all those problems with the drums I've been hearing about. I decided to get the game with the guitar package. I'll wait till they iron the drum issues out to get a drum set.
