Bigger, badder and better than the first, Resistance 2 improves upon the formula set by its predecessor in almost every way. Unfortunately, a handful of minor issues, such as less than stellar graphics, keep this game from reaching the high bar set by competing titles like "Call of Duty 4" and "Gears of War 2."

I haven't played either Gears of War 2 or R2.. And I'm not truthfully considering buying R2 (as a PS3 owner) and I don't own a 360...

 

But my question is this... Is it a little weird to you that this game receieves a 80 due to graphics (that from what I have seen look fine?) that are being compared to Gears of War 2? Maybe I'm naive but shouldn't a PS3 exclusive be measured against PS3 games when it comes to the review? Does it hurt a Wii game's score when compared to a 360 game? Because it shouldn't..

 

Also the 1up reviewer said it was one of the best PS3 exclusives he has played.. yet gave it a 83...

 

I'm not a big fan of video game reviews, as I try games I think I would like anyway. But I do tend to notice things here and there that upset me a bit... Also this can be said for 360 fans or Wii fans as well.. It's just I don't own those systems so I don't read reviews on their games.



If perferring the PS3 over the 360 makes me a fanboy.. I guess I am guilty..

List of PS3 Games I would like to have: LBP, FFXIII(if it ever comes), R2(maybe)

List of Wii Games I would like to have: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (It's not an exclusive but it would be awesome)

really, not give a damn what Gamepro has to say.

they gave Resistance 1 a higher score, and yet "Bigger, Badder and Better" deserves less.

Go figure

Less than stellar graphics? Did we play the same game? I got my copy Saturday night, and what immediately surprised was how good the graphics were, given the size of the game. They were much better than the beta, and much better than I expected them to be.

It's particularly impressive when you have giant Chimeran warships slowly moving overhead during a battle with 30+ NPCs. When you first walk outside in San Fransisco, it's like WOW.

i always look at ign or gamespot cuz they seem to be the ones making the most sense at times. IGN has already given resistance 2 9.5, and gears of war 2 9.5 so ima guess it has something spectacular in that game to rival gears 2. gamespot has so far given gears 2 9.0 waiting for resistance 2 review to come up. i say dont trust gamepro or 1up cuz those sites are just not good lol

GameSpot gave Ratchet & Clank Future a 7.5, Twilight Princess an 8.8, and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 a 10.0. They're hardly the most sensible reviewers out there.

Especially after Gerstmann-gate.

ya gerstmann, that was wrong but styll, ratchet cud've gotten better if it had online like the ps2 one, twilight nvr plyd it so i wudnt know and pro skater got that like gta, not the best of everything but was implementing new ideas at that time which would've gotten better if they didn't screw up every skater game that came out after that. i dont ply them either way but jus sayin.. they're not the best all the time but their still more known than these sites
