because last gen i had ps2 and never owned a xbox
so i'll stay with sony because it satisfies me enough

PS3- needed a blu ray player.

- didn't have to buy a hdd

Well, I bought my XBOX 360 first, because all of my friends have it, and I've been playing on LIVE for about 6 years, so I have an extensive friends list to play with.

Then I went out and bought a Wii for my wife because she really wanted it. I got the last one at Target before the big Wii drought, so I was really lucky.

Lastly I bought my PS3 when I started to get that feeling in my stomach that HD DVD was about to get destroyed to watch Blu-rays. And then when my 360 went down with the RROD, I started using the PS3 as a gaming machine as well.

So now, I play both my 360 & PS3 equally, depending on which game (because each controller is better/worse for certain titles).

obviously the xbox360 is a fine machine tech-wise, but i didn't list any of the reasons because i really only got it to play with co-workers. whereas i got the ps3 because i thought it was a superior machine and followed the news regarding it very closely. once it got it's price cut, i started harassing the wife.

Bought my Wii for LoZ:TP would have gotten it but got it as soon as possible for LoZ:TP

Bought 360 because it has the best games. Wii for curiosity.

360 at launch because (in no particular order)

1)Xbox live
2)Like the controller more
3)Huge fan of the first xbox

PS3
1)Blu-Ray at first, but looked forward to...
2)Uncharted, Uncharted, Uncharted
